The Australian skipper Tim Paine may have made an apology for his bad behaviour at the Sydney Cricket Ground during the third test match which was played between India and Australia but he is still getting slammed by many cricket lovers as well as some former cricketers.
On the fifth and final day of the test match, Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari faced 259 balls and didn’t let the Aussies take more than 3 wickets in order to save the test match. As the Australians were pretty sure of winning the test match because they had given the target of 407 runs and the visitors had already lost 2 wickets, frustration crept in the Aussies seeing their hopes getting thrashed by Ashwin and Vihari.
The Aussies had always been involved in sledging but since last three years under the leadership of Tim Paine, the Australians wanted to change their image but during the third test match, they got back to their old days. The Aussie skipper Tim Paine got involved in a verbal spat with the Indian batsman Ravichandran Ashwin and called him a di**head which has infuriated many. What has increased the anger of many people is the fact that Tim Paine also had an argument with the on-field umpire in regard to DRS (Decision Review System) and he also dropped three catches in the match.
The former England cricketer David Lloyd has also slammed the Australian skipper Tim Paine. David says that it is up to Tim Paine as to how he wants to control his players but first of all, he has to act in a better manner to set up an example. He goes on to say that if someone had talked to him like Tim Paine talked to Ravichandran Ashwin, he would have lost all the respect for that person. David also added that the manner in which Tim Paine was playing behind the wickets left him shocked.
David Llyod stated that he played for almost two decades and in those days, sledging didn’t exist. He said that people may talk a lot about Ian Chappell and his team but what Jeff Thomson and Dennis Lillee used to say to their counterparts was just banter as they never said something which made David feel not to have beer with them after the match.
David Lloyd also talked about the sandpaper gate scandal and said that everybody thought the Aussies would learn from their mistakes after the sandpaper gate but what on Earth is wrong with them that they are making mistakes again.

The recently concluded Sydney test match which was played between India and Australia will be remembered for many things; for instance, two Indian cricketers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah getting racially abused by the crowd, the Australians sledging the 2qIndian batsmen especially Ravichandran Ashwin on the day 5 and the resilience shown by the Indian batsmen R Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari in the second innings for saving the test match.
The pair of Ashwin and Vihari batted for 259 balls despite the fact that they both were injured and in pain. While Ashwin’s back was in such a bad condition that he couldn’t even bend to tie his laces, Hanuma was suffering from hamstring injury. Though Hanuma and Ashwin scored only 23 (161) and 39 (128) respectively, their innings was certainly one of the best examples for the youngsters if they have to save a test match and end it in a draw. At the beginning of the day 5, India had the target of 407 runs to win the match and with both the openers back in pavilion and Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja already injured, it could have been a very difficult task. The Australians needed to take 8 wickets for winning the match and they succeeded in taking 3 wickets so Hanuma Vihari knew that if he got out, it would bring the Indian tail on the pitch and increase the chances of Australia’s win manifold.
While the Indian cricket lovers were showering love and affection on R Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari, there were some who felt that India could have won the test match if the Indian batsmen would have batted better. The playback singer turned politician Babul Supriyo was also pretty upset with the manner in which Hanuma Vihari batted and he took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to express his annoyance.
Babul Supriyo tweeted, “Playing 109 balls to score 7! That is atrocious to say the least• Hanuma Bihari has not only k*lled any Chance for India to achieve a historic win but has also m*rdered Cricket.. not keeping win an option, even if remotely, is cr*minal. PS: I know that I know nothing about cricket”.
This tweet was made by the politician while Hanuma Vihari was on the crease and when he saw the tweet after two days, he noticed that Babul Supriyo made a mistake in writing his name as he wrote Bihari instead of Vihari.
Hanuma chose not to comment on Supriyo’s opinion but he surely corrected him by writing the correct spelling of his name, “*Hanuma Vihari”.
This was certainly a superb and the coolest reply from the cricketer to someone who knows nothing about cricket. You nailed it Hanuma Vihari!

Deepak Hooda-Krunal Pandya controversy doesn’t seem to settle down soon as the action taken by Baroda Cricket Association has not gone down well with many including the former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan.
If you remember, the Baroda player Deepak Hooda pulled out of the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy T20 tournament as he informed BCA in an email that the Baroda skipper Krunal Pandya is constantly abusing him in front of his teammates and also in front of the players of other teams who have come to take part in the tournament. Deepak Hooda who plays for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL has also alleged that Krunal has told him he will ensure that he (Hooda) is not able to take part in SMAT, adding that he also stopped him from taking part in training sessions.
BCA has also acted in the matter and has pulled Deepak Hooda for misconduct, running away for responsibility and being immature. Deepak Hooda may face a possible sanction in this case as BCA feels that he has kept himself above the team by pulling out and has also tried to gain publicity by highlighting the matter in media while he could have resolved the issue internally by informing only BCA about it.
Irfan Pathan is not happy with the manner in which BCA has handled the whole matter. He took to social media and said that the way Deepak Hooda has been treated is shocking and disheartening. Irfan who has played for Baroda for 17 years writes in his post that being a former skipper of Baroda, he has nurtured many young talents and understands the importance of harmonious environment so that the players can play freely and also feel safe.
He further writes that such actions should be avoided as they can affect the mental health of a player, especially in today’s time as players have to live in bio-bubble and have to focus on their game at the same time. He also talks about two players (Aditya Waghmode and Swapnil Singh) who he feels have been ignored despite performing superbly in the last year’s SMAT.

The Australian skipper Tim Paine has been under the radar of his critics after the third test match which was played between India and Australia got draw in Sydney. The hosts were the favourite to win the match but they were not able to take more than 5 wickets in the 131 overs of the Indian innings and a lot of credit goes to the patience and courage shown by the Indian batsmen Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari who batted for 259 balls in order to save the match.
On the fifth day of the match, Tim Paine lost his cool and he not only sledged the Indian batsmen, especially Ravichandran Ashwin but also called him a di**head. During the test, Tim Paine had a heated conversation with the on-field umpire as well in regard to the DRS (Decision Review System) and he also dropped three catches in the Sydney Cricket Ground which is quite high by the standards of an international cricketer and the skipper of Australian team.
Many former cricketers including Sunil Gavaskar, Michael Vaughan, etc. slammed Tim Paine for his irresponsible behaviour. The Aussie skipper also called an impromptu press conference and apologized for his conduct at SCG.
However, the Australian head coach Justin Langer has come out in complete support of Tim Paine and said that he has full faith in him. While speaking in a virtual press conference, Langer says that in the last three years, Tim Paine has done nothing wrong and he has been outstanding as the Aussie skipper in whatever he does and it’s just that he had a bad and frustrating day.
According to Justin Langer, it is quite obvious that he is getting criticized as he has already set very high standards for himself and if he falls below than that, he will certainly get slammed.
Talking about the incident in which the Australian star batsman Steve Smith is seen scuffing the pitch and trying to erase the batting guard of Rishabh Pant, Justin Langer says that whatever he has been hearing or reading about Steve for past couple of days is absolutely rubbish. He adds that Steve is a little quirky person and he keeps on doing weird things, adding that many times we all laugh at it as well. He says that the allegation leveled against Steve by some people is absolutely baseless as the pitch is flat and hard and it will need 15 inch spikes to scuffle the crease.

Arun Govil has worked in Odia, Telugu and Bhojpuri language movies other than Hindi films but he became a household name only after working in Ramayan. Last year when Arun Govil appeared on the television comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show along with his Ramayan co-actors Deepika Chikhalia and Sunil Lahri who played the roles of Sita Mata and Lakshman respectively, he revealed some very interesting incidents including the one in which he was scolded by some people because one of his habits.
Arun Govil told that once he was shooting in southern India and at that time, he had the habit of smoking. He was smoking while sitting on a chair in the corner and just then, some people came and started shouting at him in their local language which he was not able to understand. Arun Govil asked a crew member whether those people were scolding him.
In response, the crew member said that they were certainly scolding and abusing him because people consider him as God and he was engaged in such acts like smoking. Arun Govil told that after that day, he never smoked as it was his moral responsibility to behave in a proper manner.
Arun Govil said that though the character of Lord Ram made him very popular and earned him respect, it is also true that because of this role, he was not able to get work in Hindi films as the producers and directors felt that he would not be suitable for working in the commercial movies.
Ramayan was aired in the coronavirus lockdown again and this time too, the show was showered with love and affection. The young generation also loved it; in fact, it achieved record-breaking success and social media was often flooded with posts related to the show.
