Bigg Boss is one of the most watched, entertaining and loved TV reality shows of the Indian television and it won’t be wrong to say that its viewership is increasing with every season. There is no denying the fact that Bollywood actor Salman Khan who has been hosting the show for many seasons now is one of the factors behind its huge popularity but we also cannot ignore the essential fact that contestants and their antics add a much-needed and enjoyable tadka which serves the entertainment quotient and gives viewers ample reasons to watch a lot of drama and fights from the comfort of their couch.
Bigg Boss 14 is presently being aired on the Indian television and though the makers are coming up with various twists in the show, it is not as much successful as the last season was. In the beginning of this season, three former contestants Sidharth Shukla, Gauahar Khan and Hina Khan went inside the Bigg Boss house as the seniors and stayed there for two weeks. Many other former BB contestants such as Rakhi Sawant, Vikas Gupta, Arshi Khan, Manu Punjabi, Rahul Mahajan, Kashmera Shah, etc. also went inside the house as challengers.
The former BB13 contestant Asim Riaz who became very popular due to the show was also given the offer of going inside the house but he refused to go. Recently during an interview to an entertainment portal, Asim Riaz opened up on this matter and said that he was offered Bigg Boss 14 and he was needed to stay inside the house for nearly 140 days. He added that he refused as this was pretty long time and as he has just recovered from the impact of living inside the house so he just didn’t want to go back. He also adds that it is not the right time for him to go as he is doing pretty well in life. However, he also says that if he is offered now to go inside the BB house, he will go.
As far as his work is concerned, Asim has appeared in many music videos and the last one in which he was seen was Armaan Malik’s Veham that also featured Himanshi Khurrana, his girlfriend whom he got acquainted with in Bigg Boss 13.
Are you watching this season of Bigg Boss? How do you find it?
Kaun Banega Crorepati is one of the most loved shows of the Indian television and it won’t be wrong to say that one of the main reasons behind its huge popularity is none other than Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary Bollywood actor who has been hosting the show for many years now.
Recently, a contestant Preet Mohan Singh who is DIG in CRPF talks about one of the biggest hits of the Bollwood, i.e., “Sholay” and says that it is his favourite movie. He also gives a suggestion that the actor Dharmendra should have taken more ammunition when he went to save Amitabh in the climax of the film.
This made Amitabh Bachchan recall an interesting incident from the flick. Big B revealed that during the shoot of that scene, Dharmendra was down below while he (Amitabh) was at the top position of the hill. He further said that Dharmendra opened the chest for ammunition but he was not able to pick up the bullets, he tried a couple of times but failed. Amitabh added that Dharmendra got so annoyed because of not being able to get the right shot that he fired the gun but the bullet was real.
Amitabh Bachchan recalled that he heard the whoosh sound as the bullet past his ear while he was on the hill but the good thing was that Amitabh was unhurt. He also said that “Sholay” was really a very special movie and many interesting incidents took place during its shooting.
“Sholay” released in 1975, it was directed by Ramesh Sippy and also starred Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan and Amjad Khan in the lead roles.
Its remake which was titled as “Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag” released in 2007 but unlike the original one, it was a big flop at the box-office. Amitabh Bachchan was a part of this flick as well but this time, he failed to impress audiences with his acting.
The year 2020 will be over in less than a week and it won’t be wrong to say that it was no less than a nightmare due to the coronavirus pandemic. While a good number of people lost their lives to this disease, numerous businesses were closed down and many people lost their jobs during the COVID-19 lockdown which was imposed in order to save people from the lethal virus that is contagious in nature.
This year was not good for Bollywood as well just like other sectors since release of many movies was postponed but some of them have been released on the digital platforms now. The shooting of films and shows was also halted because of which many people found it difficult to survive in the lockdown.
Recently, Ranbir Kapoor who is undoubtedly one of the most loved actors of the present times gave an interview to Rajeev Masand in which he was asked about what he missed this year as there were restrictions around many things.
The answer that the “Saawariya” actor gave won the hearts of fans as the actor said that he is a homebody and in the privileged category. So he had nothing to worry about and he may go on talking about many things but it would be unfair towards those who faced difficult times as this was the worst times that the world has seen. He refused to answer this question as he felt that it would not be right on his part to talk about it.
Here is the video of the interview in which you can hear Ranbir Kapoor’s answer:
What Ranbir Kapoor said is completely true and all those who didn’t get infected with COVID-19, who had a house to live, whose basic needs were fulfilled and who didn’t lose their jobs in this coronavirus pandemic are certainly lucky.
Fans loved this response of the “Rockstar” actor and they showered praises on him. Here are some of the selected tweets:

The Pakistani cricket team is on a tour to New Zealand and presently, both the teams are playing the first test match which started on Saturday at Bay Oval. Pakistan won the toss and they decided to invite the hosts for batting first. The New Zealand team didn’t have a good start as their openers Tom Latham (4) and Tom Blundell (5) lost their wickets early but the skipper Kane Williamson along with Ross Taylor stabilized the innings. While Ross Taylor played a good innings of 70 runs before getting out, the Kiwi skipper was not out at the end of the day at the score of 94 runs. With Williamson, Henry Nicholls (42) was at the crease at the end of the first day and New Zealand’s score was 222/3.
The Pakistani bowlers were quite frustrated as they were not able to take wickets of Kane Williamson and Henry Nicholls; however, it is also true that Pakistani fielders dropped both the batsmen once each. Yasir Shah, the Pakistani spinner, bowled pretty well but he was not able to get any wicket which made him lose his patience.
Yasir Shah was bowling the 77th over of the New Zealand innings and on one delivery, Henry Nicholls tried to cut the ball but he missed it and the ball was collected by the wicketkeeper. Out of despair, Yasir Shah shouted, “Out ho jaa bhootni ke” which roughly translates to- “Get out man”. This statement was captured by the stumps and it must have brought smile on the faces of some cricket fans.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is said to be the richest cricket board of the world so it’s quite obvious that the Indian cricketers who play at the International level also earn huge. Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, is one of the highest paid athletes of the world but this year, he is not BCCI’s highest paid player as Jasprit Bumrah has replaced him for the top position.
Jasprit Bumrah made a comeback in the beginning of year 2020 after getting recovered from the injury for the Sri Lanka tour and since then, he has featured in almost all the matches played by the Indian team. He has earned a huge amount of Rs. 1.38 crore and has played 9 ODIs, 8 T20Is and 4 test matches in the year 2020.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli is on the second spot in the list with the earnings of Rs. 1.29 crore in 2020 as he has played 9 ODIs, 10 T20Is and 3 test matches. He could have easily topped the list if he had played the second test match against Australia but he chose to take the paternity leave to be with his wife Anushka Sharma during the birth of their first kid in January 2021.
Ravindra Jadeja is on the third spot with earnings of Rs. 96 lakh as he has played 9 ODIs, 4 T20Is and 2 test matches. Jadeja could have crossed the crore mark easily but he didn’t play last two T20Is and first test match against Australia because of his hamstring injury.
BCCI pays each player Rs. 15 lakh for each test match, Rs. 6 lakh for each ODI and Rs. 3 lakh for each T20I. This money is different from the amount which the board pays as annual contract fees.
What may surprise everyone is that Rohit Sharma, the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team in shorter format, has earned only Rs. 30 lakh this year. However, the reason behind it is that he suffered many injuries this year but he led his IPL team Mumbai Indians successfully and won the league for the fifth time.
This is certainly good going for Boom Boom Bumrah! Well done!
The Indian bowlers bowled pretty well in the second test match of the 4-match test series against Australia and sent the Aussie team back to pavilion for just 195 in their first innings. The Australians have already taken the lead of 1-0 in the test series by defeating the Indians in the first test match by 8 wickets.
The first innings of Australia didn’t start on a good note as Jasprit Bumrah sent Joe Burns back for a duck and then soon Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed the second opener Matthew Wade. However, the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant also contributed in the dismissal of Matthew Wade who got out at the score of 30 but was looking in good touch and could have made lives of the Indian bowlers tough if he had remained on the crease for some more time.
Initially, Matthew was having a little problem in facing Ashwin but he found a way to deal with him by playing sweep shorts and by paddling him. When Matthew Wade scored a boundary of Ashwin, Pant told the spinner to keep the ball within the line of the stumps as Wade would certainly hit the ball. The next ball which was bowled by Ashwin was a flighted one and in the line of the stumps, Wade played a shot in air coming out of the crease and Ravindra Jadeja made no mistake in taking the catch, though there was a little confusion.

If we talk about the first day of the test match, it was India’s day as Jasprit Bumrah picked up 4 wickets followed by Ashwin who took 3 wickets. Mohammad Siraj also took two wickets while Jadeja sent one batsmen to pavilion as well.
The top scorer for Australia was Marcus Labuschagne who scored 48 runs on the first day of the test match. India’s start was also not good as Mitchell Starc sent Mayank Agarwal to dressing room for duck. Shubman Gill who has replaced Prithvi Shaw in this test match is batting at 28 along with Cheteshwar Pujara who is batting at 7.
India is trailing by 159 runs at the moment; fans are hoping that the Indian batsmen will put up a good show and make huge score so that the Aussies can come under pressure as they will need to chase a big target in the second innings.
There is no denying the fact that India is full of geniuses who have the capability to do things which seem impossible to others.
A youngster from Kerala has manufactured or rather we should say that he assembled a car which can be called a miniature copy of a Volkswagen Beetle of yellow color. The name of this person is Rakesh Babu and he hails from Cherthala, Alappuzha district. His father has a mechanic workshop that he used to visit since his childhood days because of which he fell in love with the vehicles.
Rakesh Babu completed his diploma in industrial training in the year 2009 and after that, he assembled a bike and then a jeep but they were not much successful because he didn’t have money to spend on them. Rakesh said that he was jobless at that time and both the vehicles were made from scrap.
The 29 years old man worked on many projects and failed but he didn’t give up and planned to create a car as he doesn’t have the resources to buy a new one.
Rakesh stated that he started working on this project six months ago and he hasn’t seen a Beetle in real till now. He further adds that most of the parts used in the car are from the scrap of his father’s workshop and total money spent on the car is less than Rs. 40K.
The engines used in the car are from the Suzuki Samurai motorbike while the tyres are taken from an auto-rickshaw. He made the bumper from a bike crash guard, he used door handles of an Ambassador and used mirrors of TVS Fiero FX motorcycle. Rakesh said that he wasn’t able to buy a reverse gear so he made it himself. He went on to say that the first model used to start by kicking a pedal while in the second model, he designed a self-start system and this must be the first time that a self-start system is given with a two-stroke model. The design of the car was made by him by looking at the photos of Beetle.
The maximum speed of Rakesh Babu’s car is 40 km/hr and it gives an average of 30km/litre. The fuel tank has the capacity of 4 litres and though he can’t drive his car on the road due to the restrictions imposed by the law on the assembled vehicles, he is looking forward to display his creation at a suitable platform.
Rakesh Babu who works as a mechanic in a private organization gets many calls for assembling different vehicles. He said that he was able to devote only few hours daily after job because of which it took him six months to make a car otherwise he would have made this car in just 3 months.
Here are the videos in which you can watch him working on the vehicle:
