The coronavirus pandemic has certainly affected our lives in an adverse manner but there is an old saying, “the show must go on” which means that our work should not stop, no matter whatever happens. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) certainly seems to believe the same and when organizing the IPL 2020 appeared to be impossible, they made it possible by shifting the venue and eventually the tournament was carried out in the empty stadiums.
The IPL 2020 was definitely a very successful sporting event which was organized in UAE this year because of the increasing COVID-19 positive cases in India. Earlier, the league was scheduled to start from March 29 but the Indian government announced lockdown because the patients of coronavirus were increasing at a very high rate. Everybody thought that the IPL 2020 may not take place as the T20 ICC World Cup was also scheduled in the later part of 2020 but then ICC cancelled the T20 World Cup and it gave BCCI a chance to organize the IPL 2020.
Though there were no spectators in the stadiums, the tournament was viewed by a very high number of audiences on television. BCCI is quite hopeful of repeating the success of this year’s IPL in the IPL 2021 which is going to take place in around four months. If we go by the reports, it is being said that BCCI wants to make the IPL 2021 a bigger affair by adding two more teams in the league, however BCCI hasn’t made any comment in regard to this speculation.
BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on the 24th of this month and the BCCI secretary Jay Shah has already signed a notice in this regard which has also been sent to all the concerned persons. It is being said that total 23 matters will be taken up in this AGM and one of them is approval to two new teams. If two teams are added in the IPL 2021, a mega auction will take place otherwise a mini auction will be organized.
As per the reports, the eight franchises are not supporting the idea of adding two more teams in the IPL 2021 because they won’t be getting much time for getting ready for the mega-auction. Other issues of AGM include the election of the new Vice-President as well as tours and series that the Indian cricket team will be playing in the future.

Sanjay Manjrekar is undoubtedly one of the most controversial cricket commentators of the present times. He was all over the Internet last year when he called Ravindra Jadeja a “bits and pieces” cricketer during the 2019 ICC World Cup after which not only Jadeja but many netizens also slammed Manjrekar. After that, Manjrekar once again attracted a controversy when he had a little argument with cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle over the use of pink ball in the India-Bangladesh test match.
These controversies resulted in Sanjay Manjrekar getting ousted from the IPL commentary panel; however, he is back for commentary in the ongoing India-Australia series. Well, Sanjay Manjrekar has once again said something which has not gone well with many cricket lovers and he has been trolled on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
Talking about Ravindra Jadeja, Sanjay Manjrekar says that though he has no personal problem with him, he doesn’t like to include such kind of players in the playing eleven. Manjrekar goes on to say that he won’t even take Hardik Pandya in the team as players like him add illusionary value to the squad which is not helpful.
Manjrekar’s statement came after India lost the first ODI with a huge margin of 66 runs but unlike last time, Jadeja decided not to engage in a war of words with the former cricketer and remained in a calm mood. Though India lost the 3-match ODI series as Aussies won the first two matches, India regained some confidence by winning the last ODI and both Jadeja and Pandya played a great role in this victory.
In the third ODI, India won the toss and decided to bat first but soon the team lost 5 top order batsmen at the score of 152. It was then Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja not only stabilized the innings but also ensured that the team crosses the score of 300. Pandya remained not out at the score of 92 (76) while Jadeja also remained unbeaten with 66 runs (50) and also took the wicket of Aaron Finch who scored 75 runs.

The India-Australia 3-match ODI series ended with the hosts winning the series by 2-1 as India defeated Australia in the last ODI by 13 runs. What was surprising for everyone was that the Aussie batsmen who were not able to perform well in the recently concluded IPL 2020 were simply thrashing the Indian bowlers and making big scores.
Glenn Maxwell is also one of those Australian batsmen; he played for KL Rahul led Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2020 and performed dismally as he scored only 108 runs in the 13 matches that he played. However, Maxwell seems to be a completely different cricketer in this India-Australia 3-match ODI series as he scored total 167 runs in the 3 matches with an average of 83.50. What makes Glenn Maxwell stand apart from other batsmen is his strike rate which is 194.18 and also the fact that he hit 11 sixes, the highest in the series along with 12 fours.
Former English cricketer Michael Vaughan seems to be quite impressed with Glenn Maxwell as he believes that after this performance in the ODI series, majority of the IPL teams will like to have him. While talking to a cricket portal, Vaughan says that he thinks there would be no white-ball team which will not like to have Maxwell with them, adding that he is quite certain most of the IPL teams will try to fetch him. As per Vaughan, the Australian team has found the right place for him which is no. 7 and they won’t be changing it as Maxwell has performed so well on this position.
Vaughan appreciates Maxwell for his fielding also and says that the Aussie cricketer is so good in fielding that he always saves 5 or 10 runs in the field. He further says that while other batsmen start batting at the score of zero, Glenn Maxwell starts batting with the score of 10.

However many times, policemen are accused of not performing their duties in an efficient manner and very rarely we come to know about those police officers who keep their lives at stake in order to keep the public safe.
Thanks to social media, now we get to know about almost everything that is happening around us and recently a video went viral on the social media networks in which a cop from Chennai chased a bike-borne mobile snatcher and caught him. After arresting this mobile snatcher, the police arrested three more bad guys and recovered 11 stolen mobiles which were snatched by them.
The name of this brave Chennai cop is SI Antilin Ramesh and he chased the snatcher who was on a stolen bike without number plate. The courageous officer started chasing these two guys after he saw them snatching phone from a 56 years old person at the MMDA colony and he arrested one of them while one escaped.
The Chennai cop was rewarded by the Commissioner of Police who called Antilin Ramesh the real-life hero.

An online user narrated the whole incident on the micro-blogging site Twitter. He told that the teacher wrote “rude, arrogant and disruptive to class” in the remarks section and he had to get it signed it by his parents. He further wrote that many people might have chosen forgery but that is not his style; instead he talked to his friend and asked him to fight on the collection day. On the collection day, the Twitter user made a small scene after which fight started and the report card got ripped in half during the fight. The teacher was pretty upset but she didn’t have any other option than giving him a new report card which neither had the old marks nor any remarks.

Sanjay Manjrekar, the former Indian cricketer who has now turned commentator, is known for attracting controversies with his statements and most of the times, he also has to bear the wrath of netizens for such statements.
If you remember, last year during the 2019 ICC World Cup, Sanjay Manjrekar expressed his opinion about the Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja and called him a “bits and pieces” cricketer. This did not go well with Jadeja and he advised the former cricketer to stop his verbal diarrhea. Not only this, Manjrekar was also trolled left and right by the online users for his comments.
Sanjay Manjrekar is in news once again and this time he has again pointed fingers at Ravindra Singh Jadeja; however, he has made it clear that he has no problem with Jadeja. The Indian cricket team is presently on the tour to Australia where they have already lost the 3-match ODI series after getting defeated in the first two ODIs. It won’t be wrong to say that Australia crushed the Indian team in both the matches. In the first match, Aussies scored 374 runs and won by 66 runs while in the second match, the Australians gave the target of 390 to India and won the match by 51 runs.
After the defeat of India in the first ODI, Manjrekar has given an interview to a leading daily and said that he has no personal problem with Jadeja but he feels that players of such kind don’t deserve to be a part of the playing squad. He also adds that his thoughts and selection have been formulated on the basis of the principle that he has learnt with his experience and he is of the opinion that only those players should be part of the team who are specialists in one discipline.
Sanjay Manjrekar further states that he won’t even include Hardik Pandya in the playing eleven because the value added to the team by such players is an illusion. However, he also mentions that he views Jadeja in high regard when it comes to test cricket.
Though last time Jadeja gave a reply to Manjrekar, this time he decided not to get involved in the banter. Nevertheless, he posted a cryptic message, “Stay Calm #positivemindset” with his photo on his official Twitter handle.
