The Indian-Australian ODI series has started today (Nov 27) in Sydney with the first ODI being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The matches will be played in the closed stadiums with no spectators since the coronavirus pandemic is still far from over and gathering of audiences inside the stadium will increase the risk of spreading the lethal virus.
In this series, the Indian cricketers will be wearing the newly designed jersey which is based on the retro theme. The new jersey which is inspired by the jersey of 70s is of navy blue color instead of sky blue. Recently, the Indian opener and the left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan took to Twitter and gave a glimpse of the new jersey.
Take a look:
He captioned the photo as, “New jersey, renewed motivation. Ready to go.”
However, the new jersey annoyed netizens because of the ad placements and people called the jersey as an advertisement banner instead of the national jersey. The sponsors MPL Sports and BYJU’s have been given a lot of space because of which many feel that the Australian cricket team will be playing against BYJU’s XI rather than the Indian cricket team. MPL Sports, the fantasy app, is the new kits sponsor of the Indian cricket team as it has signed a three-year 120 crore plus revenue sharing deal with BCCI. Earlier, Nike was the kits sponsor of the Indian cricket team.
Fans were very unhappy with the new design and they slammed BCCI left and right for ruining the Indian jersey. Here are some of the selected reactions:

On the other hand, the Australian cricketers will also be wearing new jersey in the T20 series against India. Cricket Australia took to Twitter and posted a photo of Mitchell Starc wearing the new jersey and the netizens just loved it.
As far as the first ODI is concerned, the host won the toss and decided to bat first. This decision was proved correct after David Warner and Aaron Finch gave a superb start. While David Warner scored 69, Finch got out after scoring a century (114). Steve Smith also helped his team in putting a big total of 374 by scoring a ton (105) and Glenn Maxwell came up with the blistering knock of 45 for which he played only 19 balls.
Till the time the article was written, India was in a difficult position as they have lost 3 wickets for just 85 runs. Mayank Agarwal, skipper Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer have returned to the pavilion while Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul are on the crease.
Target of 375 seems difficult for India now but cricket is an unpredictable game so let us just keep our fingers crossed.

The coronavirus pandemic has undoubtedly brought many changes in our lives and it seems that we will need to follow them for a long time in future. While wearing mask has become a necessity nowadays, we should ascertain that we practice and also encourage others to maintain social distancing in public places. We should make sure that we wash our hands regularly and use sanitizer in order to save ourselves from the lethal virus.
The administration has also come up with new rules and regulations in order to stop the spread of coronavirus which is still spreading at a very high rate. During the lockdown period, there was complete ban on the gatherings but as the country entered the unlock phase, people started organizing marriages and functions and the risk of COVID-19 also got increased as some people stopped following the safety protocols in a proper manner.
There has been a considerable increase in the number of COVID-19 patients in the Indian state of Haryana after which the Police Commissioner of Gurugram, KK Rao issued an order as per which the police officers will be allowed to enter any marriage function without invitation to check the number of guests and whether they are following safety guidelines, such as wearing mask, maintaining social distance, etc.
Maximum 50 guests are allowed as of now in the gatherings in Gurugram and the police officials can also fine the organizer if the number of guests is more than the maximum limit.
Haryana has registered more than 2000 COVID-19 positive patients and 42 people have lost their life in the last 24 hours. Till date, more than 2,200 people have lost their lives in Haryana while if we talk about the whole India, the figure for lives lost is 135K and 1.42 million when it comes to the whole world.
We also request our readers to follow all the safety guidelines properly to stay safe!

The Indian cricket team is all set to face the Australian team in the 3-match ODI series which is starting from November 27 (tomorrow) in Sydney. Team India is presently on the tour to Australia where they will also play 3 T20Is along with 4 test matches. The Indian squad is under quarantine but still the Indian cricketers are getting indulged in practice sessions because Cricket Australia has given special permission to BCCI. Despite the fact that these players have a very tough practice session, they just can’t stop practicing even if they are given an off from net sessions.
Amidst the grueling training sessions, Ajinkya Rahane got a day off from the training sessions but he was not able to take rest and he started practicing in his room. The cricketer posted his video of practicing in the hotel room with caption, “Off day from the nets means I find other ways to keep batting. Can’t stay away from my bat for too long. Sorry neighbours”.
Here is the video:
Another Indian cricketer and Ajinkya’s Delhi Capitals teammate Shikhar Dhawan was quick to respond and he asked Ajinkya to stop practicing as he has scored a fifty in the practice match played just a day back. Instead of practicing, Dhawan asked Ajinkya to play with his daughter in the room.
This is what Shikhar Dhawan wrote, “Bhai maan gaye ek din pahle practice match khela tha. Usme tune 50 mare, yeh prac se kya fayda?? Beti ko khila room pe bhai”.
Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan played together for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2020 and this was the first time that DC reached the finals, though they lost to Mumbai Indians. While Ajinkya Rahane had a bad season as he scored only 113 runs in the 9 games that he played, Dhawan played an important role in taking his team to the finals as he scored 618 run in 17 games.
It will be great fun when India will clash against Australia, what do you say?

Sharad Kelkar is one of the most famous actors of Bollywood in the present times. In the recent past he has given some impeccable performances in the movies such as in TanhaJi: The Unsung Warrior in which he played the character of legendary Indian warrior – King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He was also seen in Akshay Kumar starrer “Laxmii” and despite the fact that the flick received negative criticism; Sharad was praised for his acting in the role of a transgender.
Talking about his recent success, Sharad is quite candid in accepting that luck is completely in his favour. He says that there are many people who will accept the fact that luck is supporting them but as an actor, he knows that luck plays a very important role. He further adds that he is thankful and happy to be accepted by the industry and for the fact that he has got chances to prove his talent and worth.
The actor who has no godfather in the industry started his career with a TV show Aakrosh which used to be aired on Doordarshan. Later on, he was seen in some other serials in different shades and now he is a known face among the movie lovers as well. Sharad feels that his non-greedy attitude has helped him in getting good roles in films. As per him, he never tried to restrict himself to a particular category as he never thought of working in hero roles only just because he used to play lead characters in TV serials.
Sharad also opened about his first pay cheque that he received for shooting. He told that he was paid Rs. 15K for a promo shoot which was done for one of the most famous TV channels. Earlier he was paid Rs. 5,000 for walking the ramp in Mumbai. However before trying his luck in modeling and acting, Sharad Kelkar used to work as an instructor in gym.

Lasith Malinga, the Sri Lankan cricketer, has made a reputation of a lethal bowler over the years, especially because of the Yorkers which he has bowled and quite amazingly, even the best batsmen of the world find it difficult to play it. There is no denying the fact that Malinga has served the Sri Lankan cricket with dedication but presently he is in the center of a controversy and many are slamming him left and right.
He is getting criticized by his own countrymen for not participating in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) which is starting from November 26 in Hambantota. Many are questioning him for not taking part in Sri Lanka’s T20 league (LPL) but playing in India’s IPL.
Now the Sri Lankan pacer has responded to the criticism and said that he has backed out from the LPL because now he wants some new faces to come forward and prove themselves worthy of getting selected in the Sri Lankan team. He further adds that he will love to help the youngsters rather than playing himself at the international level.
While talking to News Wire, Lasith Malinga says that he wishes the LPL is a success, adding that a number of people won’t believe that he is not fully prepared because they will say how he can lack preparation when he has played for so many years. He says that for a Yorker that he bowls in a match, he practices for nearly 1000 times as it is a result of hard work and not an accident. As per Malinga, if he failed in bowling Yorkers in the LPL, people would have taunted him by saying that he can bowl Yorkers in the IPL but have problem in bowling Yorkers in the LPL.
On the question of the criticism that he is getting, the pacer says that those who are slamming now are the same who used to praise him when he performed good for the national team. He is of the opinion that sometimes a person has to take criticism also but it doesn’t matter to him as the whole world knows what he has done for his nation and that is just fine for him.
Lasith Malinga has been a part of Mumbai Indians for a long time now but in the IPL 2020, he didn’t take part because of the family commitments. However, MI still managed to win the league for the fifth time without their star player.
Are you going to follow Sri Lanka’s T20 league LPL? Do you agree with Lasith Malinga?

The stakes are really high when the Indian and Australian cricket teams face each other on the cricket field and it is going to happen soon as India is on the tour to Australia where they will play 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and 4 test matches. The ODI series will start from Nov 27 and fans are already excited as both the teams are very competitive and love to win against each other.
The Australians have been quite famous for their aggression and sledging but things have changed considerably. Now the Australian cricketers don’t like to indulge in something which diverts their attention from the game. While talking to a leading daily, the coach of the Australian team Justin Langer made it clear that harsh sledging or verbal abuse won’t have any place in the India-Australia series.
He says that the Australians would love to indulge in plenty of banters just to make the game more competitive but abuse or sledging won’t be tolerated. Justin who was appointed as the coach in the 2018 says that anyone who has been following the team would have observed the changes that have come in their behaviour in the last two years, especially after the ball tampering scandal which happened in South Africa.
As per him, not everything will be sweet and light as the game should be played with competitive spirit. He also refers to the heated exchange of words which took place between Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Australian skipper Tim Paine in India’s tour of 2018-19. He adds that whatever Virat did had a great sense of humour and was very much as per the spirit of the game.
Virat Kohli won’t be playing all the four test matches as he will return after the first test match for the birth of his first baby.
Are you excited for the India-Australia clash?
