The Indian cricket team is all set to face the Australian team in the three match ODI series starting 27th November. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli is also sweating hard in the practice sessions but the cricket fans are little disappointed as he will not be a part of the Indian squad in the last three matches. Virat has taken paternity leave and he will be returning to India after the first test match as he wants to be with his wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their first baby.
While some are not happy with Kohli returning to India in the middle of a test series, several others are supporting him including the head coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri. The former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri says that it is a once in a lifetime moment for Virat and he would have returned for the final test match if there had not been 14-day quarantine rule as the Indian skipper doesn’t like to miss a single match.
The Australian government and authorities have been pretty tough on ensuring that the quarantine protocol is being followed strictly. In opinion of the head coach, it will be very difficult for Virat to go through quarantine and for that, he will need to arrive in Australia by Dec 31 or Jan 1.
He further adds that everyone should remember Virat is the only captain from Asia who has won a test series against Australia at home and also away from the home.
Team India will play 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and 4 test matches on the Australian tour and presently, the topic of discussion and debate among the cricket lovers is that who will lead the Indian team in Virat’s absence – Ajinkya Rahane or Rohit Sharma.

The Indian Premier League is undoubtedly one of the most popular cricketing events of the world and it not only offers a lot of entertainment to the viewers but it also gives a platform to the young players to learn from the international players with whom they get a chance to play. This is also a cash-rich league so it offers the players a great chance to earn huge and this sometimes irks the people from cricket fraternity.
The IPL 2020 was originally scheduled to start on March 29 but it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the chances of it taking place in year 2020 seemed bleak as the ICC T20 World Cup was also scheduled in the later part of the year. But ICC decided to postpone the T20 World Cup which would have been organized in Australia owing to COVID-19 and this gave a chance to BCCI to organize the IPL.
The former Australian cricketer Allan Border is certainly not happy with the T20 World Cup getting cancelled and the IPL 2020 getting organized as he feels that the local tournaments should not get priority over the world cricket. While speaking to ABC, the 65-yr former player says that he doesn’t agree with the decision of cancelling the T20 World Cup and allowing the IPL to be held because if the World Cup can’t take place, the IPL should also not have taken place.
He strongly feels that the cricket boards should stop their cricketers from taking part in tournaments such as the IPL because they are just for the purpose of earning money. What’s more, Allan Border is of the opinion that players like Virat Kohli and countries like England, Australia and India should take the responsibility of saving the test cricket from the increasing threat of local competitions.
Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, will return to India after the first test match as he wants to be with his wife at the time of birth of his their first baby. Allan Border jokes in this regard as he says that the Australians wish Kohli’s baby to take birth in Australia so that they can call him an Australian citizen.
Allan Border is one of the great cricketers of his era; he has played 156 test matches in which has scored more than 11k runs.

The IPL 2020 was organized in UAE because of the increasing number of coronavirus patients in India. BCCI and the IPL franchises ensured that all the safety protocols were followed by the players and the staff members and as a result, one of the most popular cricketing events was conducted successfully. The winner of this season was Mumbai Indians, the team which has won the IPL four times earlier as well.
The former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag also entertained his fans and cricket lovers during the IPL 2020 by presenting a show Viru Ki Baithak on the social media networks. In this show, Viru used to give his expert opinion regarding the match and the cricketers but in a hilarious way and it won’t be wrong to say that his unique style made the show a success.
Recently, Virender Sehwag posted a photo of himself in which he is seen in a fun mood and he captioned it, “When nothing goes right, go left”.
The former Indian skipper and current President of BCCI, Sourav Ganguly also noticed the photo and could not stop himself from praising Viru for maintaining his fitness. However at one fell swoop, he also said that Viru Ki Baithak was also one of the reasons of success of the IPL 2020.
Sourav Ganguly’s comment read, “Kya baat hai Veeru…u r looking fit and handsome …one of the reasons of IPL ratings so high was becoz of Veeru ka baithak ..”
Viru also responded soon by writing that the IPL 2020 was organized just because of him (Sourav Ganguly) and the BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
The IPL 2020 was scheduled to be organized in March earlier but it got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Later on, BCCI conducted the league in UAE from September 19 till Nov 10. The IPL 2020 was a huge success despite the fact that it was played in closed stadiums with no spectators as it received 28 percent more television viewership in comparison to the IPL 2019. One more reason which contributed considerably in the success of the league is the fact that there was no cricketing action for almost 6 months.
Did you also like Viru’s show and want him to continue it during the India-Australia series?
Presently, there is a trend going on in Bollywood of making autobiographies which is prompting more and more celebrities to pen their biographies. The Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan also made an announcement some time ago that he will be writing his biography which will be launched in 2021. He got trolled at that time and people slammed him for being a product of nepotism as his mother Sharmila Tagore was a famous Bollywood actress of her time. However, what angered people more was that earlier Saif claimed that he had also suffered because of nepotism.
As per a report published in a leading daily, Saif Ali Khan has revealed that he may cancel the deal with the publishers because he feels that he is not ready for the hatred and abuse that he will receive after his biography will get published. According to him, writing his life’s story is good amount of work which should be done in a proper manner and he will need to be honest about many things which may disturb a good number of people.
He further adds that he is not happy saying it but he will state it that there is a section of people who are very negative and he doesn’t want to share things about his life with them. Though Saif has kept the option still open by saying that he may or may not write his biography yet at one fell swoop, he also discloses he has not told his publishers that he is confused as of now in this regard.
Saif Ali Khan also talks about his mother Sharmila Tagore and how her side of the family is related to the great poet and author Rabindranath Tagore along with many other famous artists. He says that her mother started her acting career when she was just 16 and she also worked with the great director Satyajit Ray in 4-5 movies. He further adds that Satyaji Ray considered Sharmila Tagore as his muse who can represent his art in a perfect manner.

Suryakumar Yadav, the Mumbai cricketer, was knocking very hard on doors of the Indian cricket selectors but he was still not included in the Indian squad for Australian tour which certainly left him as well as his fans disappointed. BCCI announced the squad during the IPL 2020 and in one of the matches between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, there were some moments of heat and tension between Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli.
Most of the cricket lovers were of the opinion that it happened because SKY is not happy with Kohli and the selectors for not selecting him for the Australian tour despite performing brilliantly in the IPL 2020 and earlier seasons of the league as well. In that match, Suryakumar Yadav had a superb knock of 79 runs in just 43 balls and he played an important role in his team’s win.
Now the Mumbai Indians batsman has opened up on that episode while talking to Sports Tak. Suryakumar Yadav talked about the match and said that though it was a pressure situation for him, he was enjoying it. He further said that it was an important match for his team as they would have reached the top of the points tally after winning it, adding that he wanted to contribute by scoring runs and he was really happy for the knock that he played. He also talked about his banter with the RCB skipper Virat Kohli and said that it was instinctive from both the sides.
SKY says that he is highly inspired by Virat Kohli because he has been dominating the cricket world in all the formats and there is no match to his energy irrespective of the team he plays for. Suryakumar Yadav has been in headlines lately but for all the wrong reasons. Some days ago, he liked a tweet in which Virat Kohli was trolled and though he unliked it later, the damage was already done as till then, it was noticed by many.
Suryakumar Yadav was instrumental in making his team Mumbai Indians win the IPL 2020 which was their fifth IPL victory.
The Indian cricketers flew to Sydney directly from Dubai after the IPL 2020 as they are supposed to play 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and 4 test matches against Australia. However, the Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma is still in India as he is recovering from his hamstring injury that he got during the IPL. A controversy got erupted after BCCI didn’t include Hitman in the Indian squad for Australia but the selectors had stated that they would be monitoring the fitness level of Rohit Sharma and Indian pacer Ishant Sharma. However, Rohit Sharma cleared the air when he stepped on the field for his IPL team Mumbai Indians.
Rohit has performed in an impeccable manner for India in the shorter formats but his performance in the longest format has not been as per the expectations. However, the right-handed batsman has shown some good signs after he was given the responsibility of opening the innings in test matches as well.
Presently, the topic of debate among the cricket fans is who will be leading the Indian team in the test matches after Indian skipper Virat Kohli will return to India post the first test match. Virat has taken paternity leave as he wants to be with his wife Anushka Sharma at the time of the birth of their first baby. While some fans feel that Ajinkya Rahane who is the Indian vice-captain in test matches should lead the team in the absence of Virat Kohli, several others are of the opinion that Rohit Sharma will be more suitable for the task.
When one cricket lover asks this question to the former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg, the latter quite clearly expresses his choice as he states that Rahane will do a fine job. Talking about Rohit’s chances, Brad says that the only other option left is Rohit Sharma but he is not even sure of Hitman getting place in the Indian test squad considering his past record.
Here is what Brad Hogg wrote, “Rahane will do a fine job. The only other option would be Rohit but his record touring in Test Cricket provides no certainty of him holding a spot in the team.”

Brad Hogg’s tweet and his opinion on Rohit Sharma have not gone well with many people including the former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer.
Consequently, he trolls the former Aussie player by posting a meme based on the sequence from a movie of Akshay Kumar entitled “Hera Pheri”.
“Aaja beta aaja” is written on the image and we are quite sure that Brad Hogg won’t be able to understand what Wasim wants to convey but the latter has certainly brought smiles on the faces of Indian cricket fans with his meme.
