Sreesanth Hits Out At Robin Uthappa For Claiming That The Pacer Drops The Easiest Catches

The Indian cricket fans are happy seeing their favourite cricketers getting engaged in Instagram live sessions and in interviews as it is providing them with the entertainment which they were deprived of due to the postponement of the IPL 2020 and other cricketing events on account of the lockdown imposed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Some time ago, the Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa talked about the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup final which was won by India after defeating Pakistan. He also made a statement as per which it was destiny that made India win the match. He also claimed that Sreesanth was able to take Misbah-ul-Haq’s catch because luck was in his favour otherwise the Kerala bowler is known for dropping easiest of the catches.

Now, Sreesanth has reacted on Robin Uthappa’s statement and alleged that many complaints were made against Robin Uthappa in the last season as he dropped many catches while playing for Kerala. Earlier, Robin Uthappa used to play for Karnataka but now he has started playing for Kerala and Sreesanth also asked Uthappa to improve his catching.

The Indian pacer also gives a word of caution to Robin Uthappa as Sreesanth says that he will also be playing for Kerala in the domestic cricket and it won’t be good for Uthappa if he drops catches on his bowling.

Sreesanth says for Robin Uthappa that the junior team members may not have said anything to him after he dropped catches but if he does the same thing on his bowling, he must be ready for what comes to him after that. As per Sreesanth, he may have dropped only 4-5 catches in his complete international career and 10-15 catches when it comes to his entire professional career. He further adds that while training, even Jonty Rhodes who is being touted as one of the best fielders of the world drops catches.

If we talk about the catches taken by both the cricketers, Robin is far ahead of Sreesanth. 263 catches have been taken by Robin Uthappa and he has also done 48 stumpings as he plays a wicketkeeper-batsman for the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders.  Sreesanth, on the other hand, has taken only 35 catches till date in 8 years of his career.

Sreesanth was banned from playing cricket by BCCI after he was accused of spot-fixing in the IPL 2013 and since then, he hasn’t played any type of cricket match.

Virat Kohli Only Indian In Forbes 100 Highest Paid Athletes List, Check Out Who Is At Top

All the sports activities have been on a halt for more than 2 months now due to the coronavirus pandemic and it has greatly affected many people who are connected with the sports, especially in monetary terms.

Forbes is back with its list of 100 highest paid athletes and some major shuffles have taken place in this 2020 Forbes magazine list. The top most position has been acquired by the Swiss tennis player Roger Federer for the first time till date as his pre-tax earnings have been calculated to be $106.3 million last year. It is also the first time that a tennis player has secured the first rank in the list which is being released every year since 1990. Around $100 million has been earned by Roger Federer through the endorsements as he has been associated with some highly esteemed brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Credit Suisse and others. Roger was on the fifth position in the year 2019 while in 2013, he was at the second spot.

Professional football players Cristiano Ronaldo ($105 million) and Lionel Messi ($104 million) are at the second and third spots, respectively. The salary cuts which have been made by the football clubs have brought down the earnings of football players which helped Roger Federer in climbing up the ladder.

If we talk about the Indian athletes who have made into this list, it is only the Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli who has been able to secure his name in the top 100. Virat Kohli stands at the 66th position with the earning of $26 million out of which around $24 million has been earned through endorsements and $2 million as salary. In 2019, Virat Kohli who is also the skipper of the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore was at the 100th spot with $25 million of earnings.

As far as the women athletes are concerned in the top 100 list, only two female athletes have been able to enter this list – Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka who is at the 29th position and Serena Williams at the 33rd spot. Naomi’s earnings of $37.4 million also make her the highest paid female athlete ever and her earnings are around $1.4 million more than her rival Serena Williams.

The total earnings of top 100 athletes has been calculated to be $3.6 billion for this year which is 9 percent less than the total earnings of top 100 athletes of the last year. Undoubtedly, the coronavirus pandemic has played a great role in this decline and it is still not clear as to when things will get back to normal.

Many nations are thinking of resuming sports activities; however each and every event is supposed to take place within closed doors as of now.

Sonu Sood Reveals Why He Is Making The Utmost Efforts To Help Migrant Workers

Sonu Sood has become one of the most loved Bollywood celebs because of the help that he is offering to the migrant workers in reaching their homes. These poor workers got stuck in a difficult situation as the lockdown was imposed with an immediate effect, leaving them with no time to go back to their home towns.

While giving an interview, Sonu opened up on why he took up this difficult task. He said that he felt very sad watching the migrant laborers walking on road with their young kids. As per him, they are the same people who build their houses, offices, roads, etc. and it is not right on their part to leave these poor persons alone in the time of difficulty. He strongly felt that he should do something and then he started talking to the government of Maharashtra and other states and arranged for their transportation.

On the question of the blessings that Sonu Sood is getting, the “Dabangg” actor says that he just can’t express his feelings in words but he will always try hard to fulfill the expectations of people. Sonu reiterates that he will not stop until every migrant is sent home. He adds that he believes in coming out and helping people rather than feeling sorry and making a post on social media networks. He also expresses his sense of happiness because the God has given him a chance of helping people as they needed to be made believe that they are not alone and they can bank upon someone.

Talking about the work done by the other celebs, he says that whenever the country has needed them, the celebrities have come forward and have done their bit, though everybody contributes in the way they feel comfortable.

He also says that he takes all the precautions and not just that, he also spreads awareness  whenever he sees someone not following precautions because he feels that spreading knowledge about the disease will help in getting things back to normal.

He concludes with a lesson for life which he has been given by his mother who used to say that a person is successful only if he is able to help others. Sonu further says that whatever he is doing is because of the blessings of his parents and in the end, he also asks everyone to help those who need their assistance.

Farmer Uses DJ & Loud Music To Keep Locusts Away From Field, Twitter Reacts Over Desi Jugaad

Year 2020 has been one of the worst years of our lives, we were already busy fighting against coronavirus which has already taken so many lives and now we have to deal with the locusts that have entered India and are damaging our crops.

Though the Indian government and many state governments started preparing for this problem quite early, it is still not easy to control locusts and they are ruining the crops in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, etc. It is being said that the locust attack this year is among the worst that has taken place in the last 26 years.

While the governments are doing their best to get rid of these locusts, the Indian farmers have also come up with desi ways of dealing with them.

A senior official of Uttar Praesh police recently took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and shared a video in which a farmer has set up a DJ booth in the middle of the field and played loud music for scaring away the locusts. The police official wrote that DJ is not only used for dancing purposes but it could be helpful in making these locusts run away as well.

Akshay Kumar Forgot To Tag Twinkle In His Tweet About Padman, Apologised After She Trolled Him

Many movies are made in Bollywood every year, while some are loved by audiences, several others are rejected but there are few which leave viewers with something to think and talk about.

Askhay Kumar starrer “Padman” was one of those flicks which touched a sensitive issue about which no one wants to talk despite the fact that it is very closely related to health and well-being of the women community. “Padman” also starred Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in important roles and was produced by Twinkle Khanna.

The movie was based on the real life story of social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham and it dealt with the important issue of menstruation hygiene. Recently, “Padman” completed 2 years and on its second anniversary, Khiladi Kumar took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and expressed his happiness over the fact that they managed to touch an important issue and tried to break the myths surrounding the topic.

This is what Akshay tweeted, “It’s been 2 years to #PadMan and I’m glad we managed to push the envelope a little on this taboo subject. This #MenstrualHygieneDay, I hope we move a step closer towards ending period poverty and breaking taboos surrounding menstruation. @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte”

While Akshay Kumar did tag the two leading ladies of the movie, he forgot to tag his wife Twinkle Khanna who was the producer of “Padman”. This didn’t go well with the actress turned author who is known for her wittiness and good sense of humour and she told Akshay that he won’t be a part of her next production.

Twinkle wrote, “Err…. You are definitely not part of my next production! #PadMan”.

The “Entertainment” actor was quick to respond as he realised his mistake and not only apologised but also tagged Arunachalam Muruganantham and director R Balki along with producer Twinkle Khanna.

Kumar Sangakkara Reveals What Actually Happened At Toss During 2011 World Cup Final

The Indian cricket team has won the ODI World Cup two times, first time in 1983 under Kapil Dev’s leadership and second time in 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. While the final of the 2011 ICC World Cup is mostly remembered for the winning six shot which was hit by Dhoni, there is one more incident which took place in the final and it is also discussed sometimes till the date. We are talking about the toss of the match when both the captains – India’s skipper MS Dhoni and Sri Lanka’s captain Kumar Sangakkara got confused.

Not many know what actually happened but recently, the then Sri Lanka’s skipper Kumar Sangakkara revealed what happened during the toss on that big day.

During an Instagram live chat session with Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin on his show, ‘Reminiscence with Ash’, Sangakkara told that he and Dhoni got confused about the coin toss because of the huge noise made by the crowd. He said that it never happened with him in Sri Lanka but he faced such situation in India only – first time at Eden Gardens, Kolkata where he was not even able to hear the player who was standing at the first slip and second time at Wankhede where he called the toss but Dhoni had some doubt and asked him whether he called tail while as per Sangakkara, he had called head.

Kumar Sangakkara further said that Mahi was doubtful; however, the match referee was of the opinion that the Sri Lankan had won the toss. Dhoni asked for another toss which was eventually won by Kumar Sangakkara who had again called head.

The former Sri Lankan cricketer said that he had no clue as to whether it was luck that made him win the toss but in his opinion, Indians would have chosen to bat if he had lost the toss.

As far as losing the finals is concerned, Kumar Sangakkara said that irrespective of the fact that whether they lose or win, they know how to handle a loss or celebrate the win as they are good at maintaining equilibrium. He further said that behind their smiles was unhappiness, disappointment and the feeling of not being able to make 20 million Sri Lankans smile back home who have been waiting since 1996 to see their team lift the cup second time. Sangakkara also talked about the missed opportunities of 2007, 2011 and T20 chances in 2009 & 2012.

India missed to enter the finals in the 2019 ICC World Cup as they were defeated by New Zealand in the semi-finals.

Sonu Sood’s 23 Years Old Mumbai Local Train Pass Of Rs 420 Is Getting Viral, Sonu Reacts

The Bollywood actor Sonu Sood is making headlines nowadays for all the good reasons and the whole nation is constantly appreciating him for the selfless work he is doing. He has emerged as an angel for the migrant workers who got stuck in Mumbai amid the lockdown which has been imposed by the Indian government due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The poor migrant workers have no or very little savings and they need to work and earn daily in order to feed their family but there was no work available during the lockdown because of which they started facing problems. The poor workers wanted to go home but buses and trains were not in operation so they started walking on foot. Sonu Sood found the visuals of poor workers walking on foot very painful and he decided to help them by providing transportation. Sonu and his team got in touch with the Maharashtra government along with other concerned state governments and arranged buses for sending these laborers to Karnataka, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, etc.

Sonu Sood is basically from Punjab and he may be a well-known person now but there was a time when he also used to travel by local trains in Mumbai during his school days. A Twitter user shared an image of Sonu Sood’s 23 years old local train pass which was of Rs. 420 and it covered the distance from Borivali to Churchgate.

This pass was issued in 1997 and Sonu Sood was 24 years old at that time as per the pass. The Twitter user who shared it wrote that the person who has struggled himself can only understand the pain of others.

Sonu Sood also reacted on this tweet with, “Life is a full circle” and we are quite sure that it must have made the “Happy New Year” actor nostalgic.

Not just the common public but the celebrities and politicians are also showering praises on the “Entertainment” actor and recently the chief minister of Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh also took to Twitter and admired Moga boy.

He tweeted, “It fills me with immense pride whenever I read about my fellow Punjabis going beyond their call of duty to help those in need & this time it is our Moga boy @SonuSood who has been actively helping migrant workers by arranging for their food & transportation. Good work Sonu!”

Sonu Sood was also quick to respond and he wrote, “Thank you so much for your kind words sir. You have always been an inspiration for me. I promise to make our fellow Punjabis proud”.

Undoubtedly, Sonu Sood is doing a great job and every Indian is proud of him! A grand salute to the real life hero!
