Many movies are made in Bollywood every year, while some are loved by audiences, several others are rejected but there are few which leave viewers with something to think and talk about.
Askhay Kumar starrer “Padman” was one of those flicks which touched a sensitive issue about which no one wants to talk despite the fact that it is very closely related to health and well-being of the women community. “Padman” also starred Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in important roles and was produced by Twinkle Khanna.

The movie was based on the real life story of social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham and it dealt with the important issue of menstruation hygiene. Recently, “Padman” completed 2 years and on its second anniversary, Khiladi Kumar took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and expressed his happiness over the fact that they managed to touch an important issue and tried to break the myths surrounding the topic.
This is what Akshay tweeted, “It’s been 2 years to #PadMan and I’m glad we managed to push the envelope a little on this taboo subject. This #MenstrualHygieneDay, I hope we move a step closer towards ending period poverty and breaking taboos surrounding menstruation. @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte”
While Akshay Kumar did tag the two leading ladies of the movie, he forgot to tag his wife Twinkle Khanna who was the producer of “Padman”. This didn’t go well with the actress turned author who is known for her wittiness and good sense of humour and she told Akshay that he won’t be a part of her next production.

Twinkle wrote, “Err…. You are definitely not part of my next production! #PadMan”.
The “Entertainment” actor was quick to respond as he realised his mistake and not only apologised but also tagged Arunachalam Muruganantham and director R Balki along with producer Twinkle Khanna.
Akshay Kumar’s tweet read, “Please mere pet pe laat mat maro Missed tagging the team. Apologies to my producer, @mrsfunnybones , director #RBalki and the man without whom Padman wouldn’t be made @murugaofficial”.
Even the superstar of Bollywood can’t afford to make his wife angry!

The Indian cricket team has won the ODI World Cup two times, first time in 1983 under Kapil Dev’s leadership and second time in 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. While the final of the 2011 ICC World Cup is mostly remembered for the winning six shot which was hit by Dhoni, there is one more incident which took place in the final and it is also discussed sometimes till the date. We are talking about the toss of the match when both the captains – India’s skipper MS Dhoni and Sri Lanka’s captain Kumar Sangakkara got confused.

Not many know what actually happened but recently, the then Sri Lanka’s skipper Kumar Sangakkara revealed what happened during the toss on that big day.
During an Instagram live chat session with Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin on his show, ‘Reminiscence with Ash’, Sangakkara told that he and Dhoni got confused about the coin toss because of the huge noise made by the crowd. He said that it never happened with him in Sri Lanka but he faced such situation in India only – first time at Eden Gardens, Kolkata where he was not even able to hear the player who was standing at the first slip and second time at Wankhede where he called the toss but Dhoni had some doubt and asked him whether he called tail while as per Sangakkara, he had called head.
Kumar Sangakkara further said that Mahi was doubtful; however, the match referee was of the opinion that the Sri Lankan had won the toss. Dhoni asked for another toss which was eventually won by Kumar Sangakkara who had again called head.

The former Sri Lankan cricketer said that he had no clue as to whether it was luck that made him win the toss but in his opinion, Indians would have chosen to bat if he had lost the toss.
As far as losing the finals is concerned, Kumar Sangakkara said that irrespective of the fact that whether they lose or win, they know how to handle a loss or celebrate the win as they are good at maintaining equilibrium. He further said that behind their smiles was unhappiness, disappointment and the feeling of not being able to make 20 million Sri Lankans smile back home who have been waiting since 1996 to see their team lift the cup second time. Sangakkara also talked about the missed opportunities of 2007, 2011 and T20 chances in 2009 & 2012.
India missed to enter the finals in the 2019 ICC World Cup as they were defeated by New Zealand in the semi-finals.

When the Indian skipper Virat Kohli saw the video, he thought of having some fun and wrote, “Well done paji. Building kampp rayi aa magar thodi thodi” which loosely translates to “Well done paji, the building is shaking due to your workout”.

Bhajji was also quick to reply and he asked Virat to have a training session together after things get normal. Harbhajan Singh wrote, “@virat.kohli slowly it will get better. Wait till this whole thing gets over then we have a session together”.

Virat Kohli is one of the fittest cricketers of the world and even his counterparts admire his fitness levels.
While Harbhajan Singh was supposed to play for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2020 under the leadership of MS Dhoni, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli was supposed to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament. However, the league has been postponed indefinitely and it is also not clear whether the tournament will take place this year or not.

The fate of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 will also be decided soon and ICC will be announcing as to whether it will take place this year or get postponed. If it gets postponed, BCCI may plan to organize the IPL 2020 in that window; however as of now, nothing can be said with confirmation.

The fans of MS Dhoni were quite desperate to see their favourite cricketer on the field once again in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 but it didn’t happen as the league got postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak for an indefinite time period.

Dhoni hasn’t played any cricket match for a long time now and the last time he played for India was in the semi-finals of 2019 ICC World Cup in which India got defeated by New Zealand. While the fans are eager to see him back in the Indian team, many former cricketers have expressed doubt over Dhoni’s return considering the fact that he is completely out of touch and they have doubts over his fitness as well.
The retirement or comeback of Dhoni has become a favourite topic of discussion among the cricket lovers nowadays and many times #DhoniRetires has also trended on the micro-blogging site Twitter. On Wednesday, it started trending again and fans began to thank Dhoni for the memories and the moments that they will always cherish.

MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Dhoni also noticed it and she took to Twitter to put the rumours to rest, slamming those who were spreading the false news.
Sakshi Dhoni wrote, “Its only rumours! I understand Lockdown has made people mentally unstable! #DhoniRetires… Get a Life!”

However, she deleted the tweet after some time for unknown reasons. Whatever, at least now we know that the CSK skipper is still thinking of playing for the country.
Dhoni even started training for the IPL 2020 but after few days he returned to his home city as the tournament was postponed. It is still not clear whether the IPL will take place this year or not; nevertheless, there are some reports as per which BCCI is planning to organize the league in September-October and there are also chances of the ICC T20 World Cup getting postponed as well.

There have been many fast bowlers who have troubled the batsmen while they are on crease and Brett Lee, the former Australian pacer, is among the top names in this list. He was one of the most difficult bowlers for the batsmen but recently, the former cricketer shared the name of three batsmen whom he felt were the most difficult to bowl and were really good against the pace.

Speaking to the former Zimbabwean cricketer Pommie Mbangwa during a show, Brett Lee took the first name of the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and said that in his opinion, Little Master is the best batsman of the world. Brett Lee said that he took Sachin’s name because the latter always had the extra time for playing the strokes. Brett Lee never felt that Sachin was batting on popping crease but on return crease, however the latter batted on popping crease and still had extra time.

The second name that Brett Lee took was of West Indian great Brian Lara. Brett Lee stated that Brian Lara was such a wonderful batsman that if you bowl him six balls at one place, he will hit them at six different places.

The third name that Brett Lee gave was of South African cricketer Jacques Kallis. The former Australian pacer said that in his opinion, Jacques Kallis is the greatest complete cricketer. He also added that he hasn’t seen Gary Sobers playing live, though he has seen highlights yet if he has to choose among the players whom he has watched or played with, it has to be Jacques Kallis. He further explains as to why he called Jacques Kallis a complete cricketer as the latter could just play as a batsman or he can also open the bowling and he was also good in taking catches at the slip.

He also said that as far as the technique is concerned, Jacques Kallis is the most solid player. Brett Lee also praised former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist for his brilliant wicket-keeping and batting technique and he also took names of former Indian cricketers Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag who was famous for his hard hitting batting style.

The former Australian cricketer Greg Chappell was one of the best batsmen of his time so when he was appointed as the coach of the Indian cricket squad, everybody was excited and hoping to see team India touching new heights. However, what happened was exactly opposite of what people expected and instead of touching new heights, the Indian team touched the new depths of failure.

Before Greg Chappell, former New Zealand cricketer John Wright was the Indian cricket team coach from 2000 till 2005 and team India achieved many milestones under his guidance. A number of former players have spoken about Greg Chappell’s controversial tenure and the biggest controversy was that one of the most successful captains of Indian squad, Sourav Ganguly was not only deprived of captaincy but was also dropped from the playing eleven. Things turned very ugly when India had a disappointing exit from the 2007 ICC World Cup as it was not even able to clear the league stages.

Now, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has shared his opinion on Chappell’s coaching style. While talking to a leading daily, Kaif said that Greg Chappell could have become a good batting coach of the Indian team but he spoiled his image after performing miserably as the Indian coach. Kaif further stated that Greg Chappell failed to understand the Indian culture and his lack of man-management skills contributed to his failure as India’s coach.

Mohammad Kaif also made the comparison between Greg Chappell and John Wright and as per him, John Wright was respected by all as he had great coordination with the players and he was clear about the fact that it is Sourav Ganguly, the then skipper who would lead from the front.
Sourav Ganguly is now the President of Board of Control of Cricket for India (BCCI) and he has been touted as one of the best captains that the Indian team has ever had.
