INOX Opposes Release Of Bollywood Movies On OTT Platforms, Gets Slammed By Twitter

The coronavirus pandemic has brought our lives to a standstill as we are forced to remain indoors; colleges, schools, gyms, cinema halls and other places where mass gathering is possible have been shut down and there is no information as to when they will be reopened.

Bollywood has also been affected adversely due to COVID-19 as the release of few movies has been postponed while shooting of a number of films has come to a halt. There is still uncertainty in regard to when the things will get back to normal and the moviemakers are now choosing the OTT platforms to release their flicks rather than waiting for the cinema halls to open.

Recently, the makers of Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer “Gulabo Sitabo” made an announcement that they would be releasing the flick on Amazon Prime on June 12 and now the makers of “Shakuntala Devi” starring Vidya Balan also announced that they would also release the movie on Amazon Prime in June.

While this news is quite good for the viewers of OTT platforms, it has not gone well with the INOX theatres and INOX has released a statement on the micro-blogging site Twitter in which it has expressed disappointment and displeasure over the step taken by the makers. INOX may not have taken anybody’s name in its statement but it is easy to understand about whom it is talking.

INOX has stated that the new practice of bypassing the theatrical release is alarming, adding that the moviemakers and theatres have been in a mutually beneficial relationship for a long time and such a move will definitely hamper the environment. INOX further stated that in such tough times, the partners should stand by each other’s side but here one partner is breaking the relationship. INOX called such filmmakers as fair-weather friends and warned that it would also be compelled to weigh its options and treat the fair-weather friends in the same manner.

INOX shared the statement with caption, “Statement by INOX on a production house’s announcement to release their movie on an OTT platform by skipping the theatrical run”.

However, the Indian Twitterati was not much impressed with the statement of INOX and netizens trolled INOX mercilessly, especially because they sell popcorn, soft drink, water, etc. at a very high rate and due to such reasons, watching movie at theatres has gone out of the hands of a middle class person.

Paatal Lok: As engrossing and exciting a crime thriller can get, a must-watch.

“The universe is divided into three worlds: Swarg Lok, Dharti Lok, and Paatal Lok”, this is how Amazon Prime’s latest crime thriller, Paatal Lok, opens. And from the very first moment, the show spellbinds us.

An East Delhi cop, Inspector Hathiram, investigates a case related to an assassination attempt on Prime Time journalist Sanjeev Mehra. Hathiram had caught four goons who he believes are the crucial keys for solving this case.

Further investigating, Harhiram starts knocking on the doors of Paatal Lok, a world of murderers, goons, serial killers, and what lies ahead is bound to blow your mind to pieces.

The show displays a stark reality of what we are today. The mob lynchings, attacks on minority, trolled journalists, and whatnot, it holds a mirror to us, as a society, of the flaws that we so carefully ignore.

In the nine-episode saga, there is not one dull moment. The characters keep us hooked throughout and we travel with them, immersed in their life and journey.

But what makes this show different than any other crime thriller is its authenticity. The subtle way of handling sensitive issues, the amazing dialogues, the thorough research, and the brilliance of its actors just adds so much more.

You can probably relate to more than one character of the show, they are just like us, trying to fulfill the expectations of their families, running towards a goal, insecure, having fears, but still living and trying.

Watch Paatal Lok for its sheer brilliance of being real, for those amazing performances, for the thrill and excitement and for so many other things which just can’t be described but experienced.

Salman Khan Denies Reports Of His Production House Casting For Movies Amid Lockdown

Superstar Salman Khan has been stranded at his Panvel farmhouse with some of his relatives and friends as they came here to enjoy for a couple of days but they didn’t have the option of going to their houses as lockdown was imposed suddenly due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, Bhaijaan has been quite creative in this lockdown period as he has come up with two songs – “Tere Bina” and “Pyaar Karona” to entertain his fans who have showered their love with open heart on his tracks.

While the whole Bollywood has been brought to a standstill, rumours have been doing rounds that Salman Khan’s production house has started casting for upcoming movies. However, now the “Bharat” star has himself made it clear that he and his production house are not casting for any flick. He asked people not to believe such rumours and also warned that legal action will be taken against those who are found using the name of the actor or Salman Khan Films in any unauthorised way.

Salman Khan took to the micro-blogging site to release an official statement in this regard and he shared it with the caption, “Mat karo rumours pe trust…. #staysafe @SKFilmsOfficial”

Here’s what the official statement read,

“This is to clarify that neither I nor Salman Khan Films are casting for any film currently. We have not hired any casting agents for any of our future films. Please do not trust any emails or messages received by you for this purpose. Legal action will be taken if any party is found falsely using SKF or my name in any unauthorised manner.”

Salman has been quite active on the social media as he has posted videos in which he has asked people to remain inside their houses and follow the instructions given by the government and the medical professionals. He also scolded those who were misbehaving with the medical staff, doctors and policemen.

It is also being said that he may release a new song soon but nothing can be said with confirmation as of now.

However, it seems that the person who was responsible for the translation was not much aware of the Hindi language and he/she might have taken help from the Internet.

Boss Fired Employee & The Latter Took His Revenge By Crashing Truck Into Boss’ Ferrari

This incident took place in Chicago where a truck driver had an argument with his boss due to which he got so angry that he crashed his Volvo semi-truck into Ferrari GTC4Lusso which was owned by his boss.

Needless to say, Ferrari got badly damaged on account of the truck driver’s act; however, the reason behind their conflict is not clear as of now.

Some say that the employee was unhappy as he was being sacked while it is also being said that the employee was furious because he was asked to give drug test and he also warned his boss of bad consequences.

As per a report, it is also being said that the truck driver was pretty upset as a new truck was promised if he achieved his target but that didn’t happen. The reason of the incident is not clear but some online users said that the boss has the option of filing a case against the employee and he can get the claim from the insurance company.
