Brendon McCullum Reveals How Sourav Ganguly Reacted After His Smashing 158 For KKR In IPL 2008

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 which was scheduled to start on March 29 has been postponed indefinitely as the lockdown in India has been extended till May 3 by the Indian government due to the coronavirus pandemic. IPL had a great start in the year 2008 and since then, it has become one of the biggest sporting events of the world.

The first match of IPL 2008 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, on today’s date (April 18) and the former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum who played for KKR at that time made history by playing a smashing knock of 158 (13 sixes, 10 fours) runs for which he played only 73 balls.

This superb innings by Brendon McCullum left everyone in a surprised and shocked state as T20 was a new concept at that time. When Brendon was asked about the reactions of people at that time, he said that he exactly didn’t remember the reactions of many people but he remembered how the then skipper of KKR Sourav Ganguly and KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan reacted.

Brendon recalls when he returned to the dugout, Dada told him that his life has changed forever. He said that at that time, he was not able to understand what Ganguly meant but now he completely agrees with him. McCullum revealed that the owner of KKR, the famous superstar Shah Rukh Khan, was also pretty excited and he told the Black Caps cricketer that he will always be with KKR.

However, the Kiwi cricketer was released by the IPL team after playing for some seasons but before the 13th season, he was back in KKR but as the head coach.

Chahal Has A Hilarious Request To Anushka Sharma On Her “Kohli Chauka Maar Na” Video

The whole world is fighting a tough battle against the coronavirus pandemic and the best way to deal with this lethal virus is to stay indoors so that the chain of the virus transmission can be broken. The cricketers all over the world are also locked inside their houses and some of them have become pretty active on social media networks during this lockdown period.

While some players are interacting with fans by carrying out Instagram live sessions and Q&A sessions, several others are posting videos to request the citizens to stay at home and follow the instructions given by the government and few cricketers like Yuzvendra Chahal and David Warner are posting amusing videos on video platform TikTok to entertain followers.

Virat Kohli, the skipper of the Indian cricket team, is spending time with his wife Anushka Sharma amid the COVID-19 lockdown and as the Indian cricketer has been missing his on-the-field time, Anushka decided to give him some on-field experience.

Anushka took to her Instagram handle and posted a video in which she is seen shouting like a fan who is constantly asking Virat to hit a four. In the end, Virat is seen giving an indifferent look to his wife for her act.

The caption that Anushka wrote while sharing the video read, “I thought he must be missing being on the field. Along with the love he gets from millions of fans, he must be especially missing this one particular type of fan too. So I gave him the experience”.

Anushka’s video was soon noticed by the Indian cricketer who is probably the most active on social media and he made a funny comment on the post as well. Yes, we are talking about Yuzvendra Chahal!

In his comment, Yuzi asked Anushka to tell Virat in the next clip to send him (Chahal) for opening. He wrote, “Next time bhabhi please say chahal ko opening Kara na chahal ko I wish aapki sun le”.

Check out Chahal’s comment:

The 29 years old spinner is not very good with bat but he doesn’t mind trolling himself for his batting.

It will be interesting to see how Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli will react to Yuzi’s comment.

Ashwin Has A Kickass Reply To The Troll Who Tagged Him On Glenn McGrath’s Answer To Mankading

Ravichandran Ashwin is pretty active on social media networks during this phase of lockdown as he is leaving no stone unturned in making his fans and followers understand that staying at home is the best option available if they want to save themselves from coronavirus. Ashwin has become a favourite target of trollers after the he mankaded Jos Buttler in an IPL match which was played between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Recently, one troller tried to take his attention towards the answer that the former Australian bowler Glenn McGrath gave in response to a question regarding mankading. The Australian great was asked whether he will mankad a batsman in a World Cup final if only last wicket is remaining and the opposition needs only 2 runs to win. Glenn McGrath replied in negative and the troller tagged Ashwin in the tweet in which Glenn’s answer was posted.

Ashwin is not one of those who like to remain silent so he also gives a perfect reply to that online user by praising Glenn McGrath and calling him one of the greatest bowlers of all times. Ashwin says that he respects Glenn McGrath’s answer but at one fell swoop, he also adds that the latter’s answer may not be the only right answer to the question.

Here is what Ashwin tweeted:

“Dear sir, Glen McGrath is one of the greatest bowlers to have played the game and I greatly respect his answer for the question but to tell me that it’s the only right answer is wrong on your part”.

Ravi Ashwin was slammed heavily by some cricket lovers and former cricketers as well when he mankaded Rajasthan Royals batsman Jos Buttler in a match which was played in IPL 2019. At that time, Ravi Ashwin was the captain of Kings XI Punjab and he maintained that whatever he did was absolutely correct as it was within the framework of the laws of the game. What’s more, he also said that he will do it again if he gets the chance.

Since then, Ashwin has been trolled many times by haters but the Indian spinner has always stood his ground and has never shied from indulging in an online banter with regard to the same. In fact when one of his fans asked him to avoid such haters, Ashwin said that such people gave him material for online banters.

Ashwin has been released by Kings XI Punjab and now he is a member of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) but IPL 2020 has been postponed indefinitely as the whole country is under lockdown till May 3 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Stay at home, stay safe!

Ish Sodhi Pulls Jos Buttler’s Leg Over Mankading Incident & It Will Leave You In Splits

The whole world is fighting the coronavirus outbreak and majority of the nations of the world have imposed lockdown in order to break the chain of the virus transmission. The cricketers are also locked inside their houses and as they don’t have the option of working from home, they are utilizing this time in getting active on social media networks to interact with their fans, relive old memories, share important incidents, have Q&A sessions with fans, etc.

Many cricketers are also conducting Instagram live sessions with other players and Ish Sodhi, the New Zealand leg-spinner, also had one such session with England cricketer Jos Buttler. While Jos Buttler plays for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL, Ish Sodhi is spin consultant for the same IPL franchise. The New Zealand cricketer also used to play for RR earlier but the franchise released him before the auctions of IPL 2020.

During the chat, Ish also teased Jos in regard to the mankading incident which happened in the last IPL. Ish asked Jos about the RR batsman who got out by mankading. In response, the English cricketer laughed and questioned whether it is also the way to get a batsman out. Ish told Jos that it should not be a way and he is completely with the English cricketer on this matter.

Here is how Ish pulled Jos Buttler’s leg:

Ish Sodhi: Which Rajasthan Royals batsman was dismissed by a Mankad?

Jos Buttler: Can I just say… (laughs)

Buttler: I don’t know. Is that even a way of deciding dismissal these days?

Sodhi: Shouldn’t be mate. I am with you Jos, it shouldn’t be, mate.

Buttler: I think that might have been me.

Sodhi: Unfortunate.

During IPL 2019 in a match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), the then skipper of KXIP, Ravichandran Ashwin was bowling when he saw that Jos Buttler who was at the non-striker end was out of the crease even before the ball was thrown; Ashwin removed the bails and Jos was given out. While many slammed Ashwin for insulting the spirit of the game, the Indian spinner always maintained that whatever he did is within the laws of the game so it is not wrong and he will do it again if he gets a chance.

As IPL has been postponed till May 3, it seems we have to entertain ourselves with the chats taking place between our favourite players.
