Shoaib Akhtar Discloses His Technique Of Getting Virat Kohli Out

Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket team skipper, is one of the best batsmen of the present times and bowlers from all parts of the world find it pretty difficult to get him out. The Indian right-handed batsman has scored more than 21,000 runs in all the formats with 70 hundreds in test matches and ODIs.

Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar who was known for his Yorkers and bouncers revealed the manner in which he would have got Virat Kohli out. As per him, he would have tried to get the Indian captain’s wicket by tricking the latter into false drive or by bowling at the speed of 150 km/hr. Shoaib further added that he would have gone wide of the crease and threw the ball up to Kohli as if it was going away from the Indian cricketer so that he would have driven it. The Pakistani fast bowler further said that if he didn’t get success with the first method, he would have bowled Virat deliveries at 150km/hr until the latter was gone.

Shoaib who is also known as Rawalpindi Express was full of praises for the legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and called him the greatest batsman of all times. However, he also talked about the times when got Tendulkar out. He recalled the match which was played at SuperSport Park in Centurion during the World Cup 2003 in which Sachin Tendulkar hit a six of Shoaib’s bowling over the point area but the Indian batsman was not able to complete his century as Shoaib got him out for 98.

According to Shoaib, he has taken Sachin’s wicket 12-13 times but the Indian cricket fans only remember that six. He also went on to say that if he knew a six would make 1.3 billion people so happy, he would have allowed Sachin to hit him for a six every day.

Shoaib has earlier demanded an ODI series between India and Pakistan for raising funds for COVID-19 victims; however, there is no chance that the Indian board will even pay heed to any such demand.

VVS Laxman Reacts To Micheal Clarke’s Remark About Australian Cricketers & IPL Contract

Indian Premier League is one of the biggest sporting events of the world and players from all over the world like to play in the league as they earn huge in terms of both – exposure and fee. However Micheal Clarke, the former Australian cricketer, said something in regard to IPL and Australian players which didn’t go well with many people from the cricket fraternity.

Micheal Clarke is of the opinion that Australian players have been less aggressive against Virat Kohli and other Indian cricketers because they don’t want to spoil the chance of getting big fat IPL contract. However, his statement was contradicted by the Australian skipper Tim Paine as well as some other cricketers.

Now the former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has given his opinion on this matter. While speaking in a TV show, Laxman says that he completely disagrees with what Clarke said. Laxman who is a mentor of IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) states that a player doesn’t get selected in the team just because he is being nice to an Indian player.

VVS Laxman who has been associated with IPL since the inaugural season says that as a mentor, he also takes part in auctions and only those foreign players are bought who are playing well for their country and who can be of value to the franchise. He clearly says that friendship with any Indian player won’t help in getting an IPL contract.

IPL 2020 was scheduled to start on March 29 but it was postponed till April 15 after there was an increase in the number of coronavirus patients in the country. And now the tournament has been postponed till May 3 as the Indian government has extended the lockdown till that time. In addition, BCCI will take the final decision regarding IPL only after May 3.

Do you agree with Micheal Clarke or you think what VVS Laxman has said is correct? Let us know your views in this connection.

However, it also has a positive side to it as we are getting ample time to spend with our family that we usually didn’t get in our routine life; we can read books, watch movies and TV shows or do something creative just like this fan of Brendon McCullum did.

Brendon McCullum, the former New Zealand cricketer who played all the formats of the game, is definitely one of the most successful players and skippers of the Black Caps of all times. The video was liked by many and the former cricketer himself made a comment on it as he wrote, “Not bad. Probably a little more technically correct than the real thing!”

The manner in which Brendon responded shows that the former wicketkeeper-batsman has a pretty good sense of humour too apart from great cricketing skills. He became a household name in India when he scored quick 158 runs in IPL for his team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2008 inaugural season.

Many cricketers are spending their quarantine by conducting Instagram live sessions or podcasts with other cricketers while the fans are using this time in showing their skills by copying and enacting the style of batting or bowling of their favourite cricketer.

New Zealand is also affected with the coronavirus outbreak but they have controlled it in a quite effective manner as only around 1,000 people have been infected with the virus and the number of lives lost is also in a single digit (9).

Please stay at home, stay safe and do everything that you love including impersonating your favourite actor or sportsperson in this lockdown.

Michael Hussey Calls Dhoni The Greatest Finisher Of All Time, Says Mahi Has Unbelievable Power

MS Dhoni, the Indian cricketer. certainly enjoys a huge fan following and apart from common public, he is admired by other cricketers as well. A lot has already been said on the matter of Dhoni’s return in the Indian squad and on his retirement too but the former skipper has maintained silence over it. Dhoni last wore the blue jersey in the semi-finals of ICC World Cup 2019 and since then, he has not played any cricket match, not even in domestic circuits. Many former cricketers have raised doubts on Dhoni’s return in team India for the T20 World Cup 2020 for the same reason.

Recently, the former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey also talked about Dhoni but not on these two topics – return and retirement. Instead, he chose to talk about the characteristics which make Dhoni the best finisher of the game. Michael Hussey and Dhoni have played together for the IPL team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Hussey believes that Dhoni is the greatest finisher ever.

While talking with Sanjay Manjrekar on a sports channel’s videocast, Hussey says that Dhoni knows how to keep himself cool and calm and he can make the other team’s captain feel the pressure first. The Aussie player also states that Dhoni is unbelievably powerful and he can send the ball out of the field anytime he wants as he has a pretty strong self-belief. At one fell swoop, Hussey also mentions that he himself doesn’t have that type of self-belief.

Michael Hussey disclosed that he also tried to learn some techniques from Dhoni about chasing when the former played with the latter for CSK. As per Hussey, the Indian wicketkeeper batsman believes that the one who doesn’t lose his nerves during the game emerges as the winner. He learnt from Dhoni that never let the run rate reach 12 or 13 per over while chasing as it will also help in keeping the bowler under pressure.

Michael Hussey also applauded former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting along with MS Dhoni and said that such great players don’t let victory or defeat affect their thinking, adding that they move on very fast even if they have tasted defeat.

MS Dhoni is certainly one of the most successful skippers of India as under his leadership, the Indian team has won three ICC trophies. Moreover, CSK has also won the IPL three times and Champions League two times.

We have no idea whether we will be able to see Mahi in the Indian squad again or not but every Indian cricket fan misses him for sure.
