MS Dhoni, the former skipper of the Indian team, may have not spoken at all in regard to his comeback or retirement but a lot of discussion is taking place on this topic considering the fact that IPL 2020 is a gone case now after the lockdown has been increased till April 30.
The wicketkeeper-batsman has not played for India since the semi-final match of ICC World Cup 2019 in which India was defeated by New Zealand. Since then, Mahi has been spending time with his family and friends and has maintained silence in regard to what he has thought for his future. Many former cricketers have also expressed their opinion on this matter and majority of them think that Dhoni’s return in team India is impossible at the moment as he has not played cricket for almost a year now.
The head coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri once said that Dhoni’s comeback in the Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2020 will depend on his performance in IPL 2020. However, now it seems that IPL 2020 is not going to take place as in all probability, the lockdown which was imposed till April 15 will get extended till April 30.
The cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra has also opened up on the matter of Dhoni’s return in the Indian squad and he feels that we won’t be able to see the Jharkhand cricketer in the Indian jersey. While talking to former Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja on YouTube, Aakash Chopra says that he feels MS Dhoni has made up mind of saying bye to international career as he has not played any cricket match for a very long period.
Aakash Chopra adds that Dhoni has not told anyone anything and he hasn’t announced his retirement but he may be playing in IPL. As per the commentator, Dhoni has remained unavailable for the selection and he won’t be joining team India again. Chopra also says that he thinks Dhoni has already taken the decision of calling it quit without a farewell match as he wants to walk away without making a noise. However, Aakash Chopra also adds that if someone like Sourav Ganguly, Ravi Shastri or Virat Kohli persuades MS Dhoni, he may play in the T20 World Cup which is going to be held in Australia.

There is no denying the fact that the coronavirus outbreak is the biggest problem faced by not only India but the whole world and its fatal effect can be understood by the fact that it has brought majority of nations to a standstill. The World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 as a pandemic which has already taken lives of more than 1 lakh people while over 17.7 lakh persons have been found infected with it worldwide. If we talk about the stats in India, more than 270 people have succumbed to this virus that has infected around 8,300 people in the nation.
Considering the grim situation caused by coronavirus, the Indian government announced the complete lockdown of 21 days in the country and taking into account the essential fact that the condition is still not very much satisfactory, lockdown has been extended further; however, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make an announcement in this regard when he will address the nation.
Various celebrities from the film industry and sports world as well as different government departments are taking resort to social media for urging the Indians to stay at home and maintain social distancing. While some use the tone of aggression, suggestion or request, there are many who opt for adding a punch of humour to spread awareness about COVID-19.
Needless to say, Indian police is doing a brilliant job amid lockdown and coronavirus scare and they indeed deserve a big round of applause for their work. Apart from serving the country tirelessly with their duty, they are also leaving no stone unturned in creating awareness through social networking platforms. Earlier we stumbled upon Mumbai Police’s tweet in which they used MS Dhoni’s iconic shot in World Cup 2011 and now they have resorted to Bollywood for spreading awareness.
Mumbai Police has used a scene from Shah Rukh Khan & Sushmita Sen starrer “Main Hoon Na” in which a college professor (role played by Satish Shah) spits badly on Ram Prasad Sharma (character portrayed by SRK) and the latter does a mind-blowing stunt to save himself from the spit attack.
Mumbai Police talks about the importance of mask as they have written, “@iamsrk wouldn’t need to do such stunts any longer – Mask Hai Na!”

In one of the tweets, they used a scene of SRK and Deepika’s “Chennai Express” and urged people to maintain social distancing while in another, they asked people not to step outside their house unnecessarily by using a still from Shahid Kapoor starrer “Kabir Singh”. Moreover, few days ago when Bollywood star Ajay Devgn appreciated the efforts of Mumbai Police, the latter responded to the actor in a filmy style with the inclusion of his movies’ names in the tweet.

The former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting is one of the greatest cricketers that the Australian cricket has ever produced and he is also one of the most successful captains of Australia. Despite the fact that he was a very talented batsman, there were times when he had faced trouble in dealing with some bowlers. Recently, the former Australian skipper took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and shared a moment from his career in which he talked about the toughest over that he faced.
He shared a clip from the second innings of the 2005 Edgbaston Ashes Test in which Ricky Ponting is seen facing the England pacer Andrew Flintoff. In the clip, it is seen that Ponting was having trouble in playing Andrew Flintoff and after getting beaten in the four incoming and away going deliveries, Ponting got out at the final ball of the over.
The caption written by Ricky Ponting was, “Best over I ever faced. Class reverse swing at 90odd mph!” The original tweet was made by the England Cricket with the caption, “Is there an emoji for goosebumps? That crowd noise @flintoff11”

However, the Indian cricket fans were not much happy with it and they reminded Ricky Ponting of the time when he had trouble while facing the Indian pacer Ishant Sharma. The Indian pacer was generating good pace at the bouncy pitch of WACA during the third test match of the four match series which was played in 2007-08 when India visited Australia.
Ricky Ponting lost his wicket to Ishant in both the innings of the match which was won by India and Indian fans were not able to stop themselves from bringing up the incident.

The skipper of Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli once revealed that his teammate and vice-captain of the team Rohit Sharma has a habit of forgetting his belongings while he is travelling but now it has been proved that Hitman is bad at remembering things or facts related to his cricket career as well.
Rohit Sharma has been conducting live Instagram sessions with his friends from the cricket fraternity nowadays; earlier he chatted with Jasprit Bumrah, Kevin Pietersen, Yuzvendra Chahal, etc. and recently he was involved in an Instagram live session with former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
Yuvi and Rohit Sharma have played together for quite a long time while playing for India and in IPL also, they have played together. Both the cricketers share a good camaraderie and it was quite visible in their chat session too. However, Yuvraj Singh posed some problems for Rohit as he was ready with ten questions which Rohit was supposed to answer in 10 seconds each. The questions were related to Rohit Hitman’s career such as the date on which he played his last test match, the number of test matches played by him at a certain age, his height in cm, his nicknames and many more.
Rohit was able to give 5 correct answers out of 10 which once again proved that he is very good at forgetting whether it is things or answers. Rohit has also disclosed that the next player with whom he is going to chat is Harbhajan Singh.

The probability of Indian Premier League 2020 taking place this year seems quite bleak as there are pretty good chances of lockdown getting extended after April 15. IPL 2020 was supposed to start from March 29 but as the number of coronavirus patients increased, all the events where mass gathering was possible were banned and BCCI also postponed IPL till April 15.
There were speculations in regard to IPL 2020 taking place after April 15 and former Indian cricketer Madan Lal expressed his opinion in this matter. While talking to a leading news magazine, Madan Lal says that the first priority is to deal with coronavirus and he feels that nobody will even think of taking risk in such a critical situation.
The former Indian cricketer feels that IPL is a huge brand and it will be of no use if the matches are played in empty stadiums. The veteran player is of the opinion that IPL is not just about the players and fans but also about those who are involved in off-field activities, such as organizing, travelling, broadcasting, etc.
Coronavirus has already taken lives of more than 1 lakh people worldwide while the number of infected persons is over 17 lakh. If we talk about India, the number of cases is rising at an alarming rate as yesterday, more than 1000 cases of coronavirus were registered, the total number of infected cases in India is around 7,500 at the moment while more than 240 have lost their lives.
The best way to keep ourselves safe is to remain inside our houses so that the chain of virus transmission can be broken. Stay at home, stay safe!

Indian Premier League has been entertaining all of us since 2008 and it has given some really great memories; nevertheless, some controversies have also erupted during these 12 years including the slapgate incident.
The slapgate controversy took place in the inaugural year when Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Harbhajan Singh slapped the Kings XI Punjab cricketer S Sreesanth after the match which MI lost by 66 runs. The match was played at Mohali and Yuvraj Singh was the skipper of KXIP in that season. MI was supposed to be led by Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in IPL 2008 but he got injured so Harbhajan Singh was appointed as the skipper but after he was found guilty of slapping Sreesanth, Bhajji was suspended for the whole tournament and Shaun Pollock was appointed as the skipper of MI.
Dominic Thornely, the cricketer from New South Wales who was a member of MI in that season and played 6 matches, revealed that Bhajji was quite upset with what he did to Sreesanth and the latter was seen crying profusely on the field.
Dominic visited the past memory lane while talking to a sports portal and told that Harbhajan came and sat with him in the dugout after getting out and he was very upset as MI was going to lose with margin because only two wickets were remaining. As per Dominic, he told Bhajji not to get upset and disturbed as the tournament is in its early stages and he as a captain should maintain his composure. Harbhajan agreed with him and said that remaining calm is the right call.
Dominic said that just after 5 minutes, they lost after losing two more wickets and players began to shake hands. He further added that he was 4 players away from Harbhajan and suddenly he heard the sound of slap; he was shocked to the core as to how the matter went out of hand as Bhajji assured him of remaining calm. Dominic further said that Turbanator was pretty sad with himself and regretted his action.
Talking about the match, MI got all-out for 116 in response to KXIP’s 183 which included 94 runs of Kumar Sangakkara for which he played 56 balls.
The big question at present is whether IPL 2020 will take place or not. What do you think?
