The coronavirus outbreak has affected the whole world and India’s neighbouring country Pakistan is also fighting with this contagious virus in order to save its citizens. However, the Imran Khan government is still not able to impose complete lockdown in the nation unlike India. The total number of infected cases in Pakistan has crossed the 2000 mark while 26 have lost their lives till now due to this disease.
Besides the Pakistani government, many social organisations have also come forward to help the Pakistani citizens and Shahid Afridi Foundation which is owned by former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi is also one of them. Shahid Afridi has asked for help from other cricketers also and Fakhar Zaman, Shoaib Akhtar, etc. have come forward to contribute for this noble cause.
Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh also raised his voice and asked people to help by donating to Shahid Afridi Foundation. He also posted a video in which he said that he had been nominated by cricketer Harbhajan Singh for this, adding that in such times, we should stand together to fight against coronavirus.
Yuvraj Singh’s tweet read, “These are testing times, it’s time to lookout for each other specially the ones who are lesser fortunate. Lets do our bit, I am supporting @SAfridiOfficial & @SAFoundationN in this noble initiative of covid19. Pls donate on http://donatekarona.com #StayHome @harbhajan_singh”

Indian Twitterati was not able to digest the fact that Yuvraj Singh was supporting someone who has constantly spoken against India, especially in regard to Kashmir. Indian citizens were already unhappy because of the poor condition of Hindu and Christian minorities in Pakistan and now there are reports that in these tough times, the Hindus and Christians were refused ration, saying that it is meant only for Muslims.
What do you have to say in this regard?

Everyone is sitting at home nowadays due to the lockdown in the country and the Bollywood celebs are no exception to it. Undoubtedly, B-Town has also suffered a setback on account of the coronavirus outbreak as release of few movies has been postponed indefinitely while shooting of many movies films has been stopped. The Indian film actors are now spending time with their families, interacting with fans, indulging in other activities and making posts on social media networks to spread awareness regarding COVID-19.
Akshay Kumar who has recently donated Rs. 25 crore to PM-CARES is also sharing videos on social media in which he is asking people to stay at home and follow the instructions given by the government. In a video which he posted on Instagram, he seems to be angry with the people who are not taking lockdown seriously and are going out of their houses for no reason. He compares the 21 days lockdown with one of the most famous yet controversial reality shows of Indian television Bigg Boss which has been hosted by actor Salman Khan many times. Akshay says that the God is the Bigg Boss and he wants each of us to remain at home.
The actor shared the video with caption,
“#StayAtHomeSaveLives
At the risk of sounding repetitive, sharing my thoughts…there is a lockdown for a reason. Please don’t be selfish and venture out, you’re putting others lives at risk
#StayAtHomeSaveLives. @my_bmc”

During an interview with a radio channel, Khiladi Kumar revealed that he is also working from home other than making videos and posting them on social media networks. As per him, he is reading script with the director and writer on the video call as he can’t go anywhere and nobody can come to his house as well.
The actor admitted that personal meeting has its own flavour but we should take the benefit of technology too. According to him, he feels that God is the Bigg Boss who wants that everyone should stay at home, adding that the person who will stay at home will be the winner. He has asked people to stay at home with family and focus on hygiene. The “Good Newwz” star further says that taking care of health is the most important thing but people generally lose focus from their health in such times.
The release of Akshay’s movie “Sooryavanshi” has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. The movie is directed by Rohit Shetty and it also stars Katrina Kaif in the lead role.
Stay at home and practice social distancing to stay safe!

The number of coronavirus patients is constantly increasing in the whole world which makes it more important for all of us to remain indoors so that we don’t get infected with this lethal virus. India is under complete lockdown for 21 days which started from March 25 and is going to continue till April 14. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested the citizens to help him in saving them and their families by staying at home so that the chain of the virus transmission can be broken.
PM Modi also requested everyone to come forward and help the country in fighting the novel virus COVID-19 by making donations as per their capacities in the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES). This fund will be used in the future as well if God forbid we face another critical situation just like present scenario.
Many celebrities from Bollywood and sports world came forward to donate in this fund or in CM relief fund, such as Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Kapil Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, etc. However, some people started questioning the amount they were donating, especially the amount of donations that were made by the Indian cricketers.
There is no denying the fact that cricket is the most loved sport of India and after the advent of IPL, even those who don’t get the chance of playing for the national team also earn good. Some people felt that the cricketers are donating very less in comparison to what they earn and they should have donated much bigger amount than what they have actually donated. Well, it is true that Indian cricketers are highly paid and they earn huge amounts from endorsements as well but it is also true that it is their hard-earned money and nobody has the right to question them.
The former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha is also not happy with the fact that people are questioning those who are making contributions. He took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and slammed critics, saying that help is help and it can’t be measured. He also said that people should be thankful to those who are contributing instead of questioning them.
Here is what Pragyan Ojha tweeted, “It’s very strange to see people who are coming forward to give a helping hand in this crisis by donating are being questioned (how much have they donated). A help is a help, it is not measured. We should be thankful to them. #JustAThought #COVID2019india”
What are your views in this regard? Do you agree with Pragyan Ojha?

The Indian government decided to lockdown the country for 21 days starting March 25 in order to control the transmission of coronavirus as the disease is contagious in nature. The cinema halls, schools, colleges, gyms, swimming pools, etc. were already closed and the sport events were also cancelled or postponed in order to avoid gathering of public in huge numbers.
As everyone was compelled to sit at home to save themselves from the virus, many people demanded the government to broadcast Ramayana and Mahabharat once again. The government led by PM Modi was also quick to respond and from 28th March, not just Ramayana and Mahabharat but detective serial Byomkesh Bakshi was also broadcasted.
Soon Shah Rukh Khan starrer Circus also came on television and now as per the reports, one of the most favourite shows of 90s, the superhero serial Shaktimaan will also be back on our TV screens.
Mukesh Khanna starrer show was watched by not just kids but people from every walk of life. Moreover, Shaktimaan is the first superhero of the Indian television and it has a special place in the hearts of the kids of 90s.
The Indian Twitterati couldn’t keep calm after knowing that their favourite superhero will be back and this is how fans reacted to the good news:

Even the Bollywood actress Sunny Leone posted a tweet in regard to the old shows broadcasted again. Interestingly in her tweet, she is seen with the t-shirt on which it is written, “Bring Back The 90s”. She shared the tweet with caption,
“Wow..they took my tee seriously!!
Guess what’s back on DD”
The Indian Twitter users also demanded that other shows like Fauji, Dekh Bhai Dekh and Shararat should also be started again.
How many of you are getting nostalgic and excited to watch your favourite shows of 90s?

Alia Bhatt is certainly one of the most talented actresses of the present time and she has proved it many times with her acting performances in movies such as “Highway”, “Raazi”, etc. She debuted in Bollywood with Karan Johar’s “Student Of The Year” along with Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The film was a blockbuster and ever since, Alia has not looked back.
During a video chat with Rajeev Masand, Karan Johar said that in his opinion, “Student Of The Year” was an emotional launch for Alia but if we have to talk about her professional launch, it has to be Imtiaz Ali’s “Highway”. Karan accepted that he was not able to nurture Alia as an actor in the manner in which Imtiaz did. KJo further said that he knew there is something special in her but he was not able to use her talent properly.
Karan is working with Alia once again in his multi-starrer “Takht” but he doesn’t seem to be happy with it. He says that Alia has a good role in the flick and she is looking great too but he feels that he and Alia need to work in another film in which he can use her talent in an appropriate way and they will be known for that movie among audiences.
Alia will be seen next in Ayan Mukerji’s “Brahmastra” in which she is working with Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna. As of now, the film industry has been adversely affected because of the coronavirus outbreak as releases of few movies have been postponed indefinitely while shooting of many movies has also stopped.
We will also like to see Karan Johar utilising the full talent of Alia Bhatt and are eagerly waiting for it. What about you?

The coronavirus outbreak has made the whole world sit inside their houses as it is the best way to break the chain of the virus transmission. Some of us have the option of working from home but there are many who just can’t work from home, even if they want to, such as professional cricketers. The cricket players all around the globe are spending this time with their family, interacting with fans, spreading awareness about coronavirus, playing with their kids and pets, etc.
Recently the skipper of the New Zealand cricket team, Kane Williamson posted a video on his Instagram account in which he is seen with his dog Sandy. In the video, Williamson edged the ball with his bat and Sandy took a wonderful catch just like a brilliant slip-fielder.
Here’s the video:

Now the Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has tried to do the same act with his dog Bretty. Bretty failed first time in collecting the ball but in the second attempt, she took the catch comfortably and also ran to celebrate the moment.
Shreyas shared the video on the micro-blogging site Twitter with caption, “Betty wanted to have a go too after watching Kane Williamson’s beautiful dog Sandy nail that catch. Took Betty a while but she’s got her first catch and immediately ran to celebrate”.

Well, all those who have dogs at home must not be feeling bored at all and they can also try to play cricket with them to have some fun.
The situation all over the world is getting more alarming due to the coronavirus outbreak as more than 7.5 lakhs are infected while over 37,000 people have lost their lives. If we talk about India, the number of confirmed cases has crossed the mark of 1300 while around 40 people have lost their lives because of this lethal virus which has been declared as pandemic by World Health Organization.
Stay at home, practice social distancing and go out only if very necessary! Stay safe and healthy!

The Virat Kohli led Indian cricket team is one of the strongest teams of present times but what makes it a little different from other Indian teams of the past is its bowling unit. The real strength of team India has always been batting but in the present scenario, bowling is also pretty strong with the pacers Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and spinners Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav with all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya also chipping in whenever needed.
One more name we need to mention is of Umesh Yadav who made his debut in 2010 and was considered as the next big thing in the Indian cricket. But unfortunately, the pacer had an inconsistent career as he was constantly in and out of the team.
He talked about his cricket career in an interview and accepted that he feels bad as he doesn’t get enough chances to play for country. However, the good thing is that he has understood that despite sitting out and watching India play, he should not let himself develop a feeling of self-pity because it will affect him adversely and he won’t be able to play properly when he gets the chance.
Umesh also says that the three pacers – Ishant, Bumrah and Shami are performing well and it would be hard for thevteam management to change the team composition in such a scenario. He further adds that he rarely got two matches in a row and when you don’t play more, you find it difficult to understand the conditions.
Umesh also feels that selectors have not used him properly in the ODIs as he used to get the chance of playing in a couple of matches and then he was made to sit out for many months. He is upset as his career is not stable and despite performing good in World Cup 2015, he was made to sit out.
Although Umesh is not much happy with his career, he is still thankful as he feels that life has given him more than what he asked for. The 32 years old Indian pacer has taken 144 wickets in 44 test matches while in ODIs, he has taken 106 wickets in 75 matches. He has also taken 9 wickets in seven T20i that he has played for the country.
Umesh plays for the Vidarbha cricket team in the domestic tournaments and Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL as of now.
