The Indian cricket team will be facing Australia at home after defeating West Indies and Sri Lanka and the first ODI will be played on 14th January in Mumbai.
There is no denying the fact that as team India started giving tough competition to Australians, the rivalry between both the teams got intensified. Sledging was always a part of the Australian game plan and under Sourav Ganguly, Indian cricketers started giving it back to the Australians. In present times, the Indian team is quite an aggressive lot under Virat Kohli and they won’t even mind starting the banter.
Last time when India and Australia clashed and the Indian team visited Australia, some incidents got highlighted and one of them was babysitting episode between Tim Paine and Rishabh Pant.

In the third test match when Rishabh came to bat, then Tim thought of making him lose his focus by sledging him. MS Dhoni was coming back in T20I and Tim used it to unsettle Rishabh by saying that he can extend his holidays and come to Hobart where he would be used by them during the Big Bash League. Tim further provoked Rishabh by asking him whether he could babysit kids so that he could go to the movie with his wife Bonnie Paine while Rishabh would babysit his children.
This incident got more attention when a photo was posted on the Internet in which Rishabh was seen with Tim’s wife, holding the kids of the couple. The pic went viral instantly and there was a sudden increase in the number of Indian followers of Bonnie Paine. For a moment she got panicked as she was not aware of the babysitting episode since she was not watching the match. She came to know about it through social media and also got to understand the reason behind sudden increase in the number of her followers.

When Tim was asked as to why he sledged Rishabh, he said that they were getting bored as they were not getting any wickets. Tim said that Ricky Ponting, the former Aussie cricketer, knew Rishabh and they knew that he is too good but still they tried to divert his attention but that was of no use as Rishabh is seriously a good cricketer.
Who will emerge as winner this time according to you – India or Australia?

However, more than for these awards, the Indian Twitter users talked about a photo which was posted by BCCI. The event was attended by all the players of the Indian cricket team including the skipper Virat Kohli but he was missing from the pic which was posted by BCCI with the caption, “#TeamIndia all smiles at #NAMAN”.

Cricket is a global sport. It has evolved from time to time, to match with the needs of the ever changing world. But one thing that has remained constant about cricket is the 5 day format, the format has been there from the start.
But owing to a steep fall in viewership ICC has proposed 4 day test matches to balance out the economic scales a bit.
Many cricketers and other relevant voices have spoken out their views about this proposal and not much has been in favour.
While delivering Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi Lecture at BCCI awards, India’s ex-opener, Virender Sehwag cited his views on this ICC proposal and mentioned that 5 day test cricket is romance, it has a soul which is fit and fine.

In his own style Sehwag mentioned, “Char din ki toh bas chandini hoti hain, Test cricket nhi.”
The opener had a very strong opinion on the matter and believed that small changes and innovations in the game are fine but test cricket is still relevant, the way it is.
“Diaper and test cricket should only be changed when they are not used anymore.”, were his ending views on the matter.
It is good to see ex-cricketers raising their voices and citing their views about test cricket, which we all so dearly love to watch.

Jasprit Bumrah, India’s best pace bowler across formats, and among the best in the world was bestowed with two of the biggest prizes on Sunday in BCCI award ceremony.

The ace pacer bagged Dilip Sardesai award for taking the highest number of wickets in test cricket in 2018-19 and Polly Umrigar award for best international cricketer of the year.
Bumrah, after making an impact in limited over format, was fast tracked into the test side and made an immediate impact. He also had a huge role to play in India’s test series win, down under.
Jasprit took to Instagram and shared a photo with his trophies. While everyone was congratulating and praising the cricketer, our very own Yuvraj Singh had a very cheeky reply.

Yuvraj replied, “Jassi has de thoda no ones taking your trophies away
! Jokes apart many congratulations you truly deserve it.”

The reply was indeed funny and apt as Bumrah always maintains a serious look on his face.
Seeing our favorite cricketers interact and have a little fun with each other is indeed very heartening to see. It sure brought a smile to our face and probably to Bumrah’s as well.

The Indian cricket team has recently won the three match T20I series against Sri Lanka by 2-0 and the first match was abandoned because of the rain. The Indian team proved its dominance over the opposition in a pretty comfortable manner in both the matches.
In the third match, India defeated the visitors by 78 runs as batting first, India put up a total of 201 runs on the board at the loss of 6 wickets. The Sri Lankan team got all out at the score of 123 and while the whole world was talking about it on the social media networks, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also made a tweet regarding the India-Sri Lanka series.
In this tweet, ICC posted two photos and wrote the caption, “If you know the struggle….#INDvSA”.
Here is the tweet:
After this tweet, the Indian Twitterati was in no mood to spare ICC and trolled the organisation mercilessly. If you are still not able to see what is wrong, just take a look at the hashtag; ICC wrote #INDvSA instead of #INDvSL. Some users also gave reference to Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey’s famous struggle remark taking into consideration the caption used by ICC.
