The last Solar eclipse of the year 2019 took place yesterday (26 December 2019) and there was quite a lot of excitement among the public because they wanted to see the event. Even the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the people of India was eager to watch the Solar eclipse but the clouds spoiled everyone’s mood.
This solar eclipse was special as it was annular in which 97% of the Sun is covered by the Moon and Ring Of Fire can be seen. The Solar eclipse was visible properly in the Indian states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu while in the other states, people were left disheartened due to clouds. However, one thing which should be remembered is that the Solar eclipse should not be seen without the special glasses that are suitable for this purpose.
As we know the Internet users are capable of adding fun to anything under the Sun, this event was also celebrated on the social media sites with a tinge of humour. Shikhar Dhawan, the Indian left-hander, is out of the team for quite some time now due to his injury but the good news is that he will be back in the Indian squad for the T20I series against Sri Lanka in which three matches will be played. The first match is scheduled to be played on 5th January 2020 at the Barsapara stadium, Guwahati.
The Indian team is going pretty strong and it is quite difficult to make a place in the team as all the players are performing well. Shikhar Dhawan has also got the chance of coming back because Rohit Sharma has decided to take a break.
Dhawan got his knee injured while representing Delhi in Syed Mustaq Ali T20 trophy. Nowadays he is playing in the Ranji 2019-20 in which his team is battling out against Hyderabad in New Delhi at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Despite his hectic schedule, Gabbar of the Indian squad loves to spend time with his son Zoravar and recently he shared a clip in which Zoravar is seen kicking and punching his father. Delhi’s Ranji match against Hyderabad started on December 25 and Dhawan has been brilliant in his innings of 137 for which he played 198 balls with 19 fours and 2 sixes. This also proves that Dhawan’s fitness levels have gone up and he is perfectly ready to face Sri Lanka.

Today, the last Solar eclipse of the decade took place and started at 8:15 am. It was visible in certain areas as the edges of the Sun are even visible after the Moon comes in between the Earth and the Sun. However, it should not be watched with bare eyes and people should use the special glasses meant for this purpose.
PM Modi is quite interested in such happenings and he was also eager to witness it but due to the clouds, he was not able to view the Solar eclipse. He shared it on his Twitter account with his followers with a photo in which he is seen holding the special glasses while looking up in the sky.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) may have been the first team to win the IPL in 2008 and make history but since then, they have never been able to make any impact. They have not even played another final after 2008 and subsequently they got suspended for 2 years due to spot-fixing charges. They resumed in the year 2018 but they never seemed to play like former champions.
Manoj Badale, the owner of RR, feels that the league will grow further if one more team is added in the tournament. Usually 8 teams play in IPL, the exception being the year 2011 when 10 teams played.
Manoj Badale said that eight is certainly a good number of teams for the tournament but if one more team is added, it will help the league to expand more as one more stadium will be included and many more fans of the game will be able to see matches. This will be advantageous for the league to a great extent.
In the auction, RR has purchased David Miller, Robin Uthappa, Kartik Tyagi, Jaydev Unadkat among others as they want to win their second trophy this time. Manoj is quite confident because they have appointed Andrew McDonald as the coach and Steve Smith will be their captain.
Steve Smith missed IPL 2018 due to the ban and Ajinkya Rahane led the team but performance was miserable. Steve is back and he is certainly a great caption and Badale feels that with Andrew and Steve at the helm of affairs, his team has a good chance of regaining the glory.
Manoj Badale is quite optimistic of IPL teams playing international friendly matches as it will make the brand stronger. However, the only international friendly has been played in 2009 against Middlesex at Lords.
