One-Liners In The Indian Cricket That Made Headlines

The use of technology has increased a lot in cricket nowadays and sometimes the conversation which takes place between the players on the field can also be heard by viewers on TV. Sometimes cricketers indulge in a fun banter while at other times, it may be a heated argument. Today we are going to tell you about 5 on-field statements by the players which went viral.

1. Rohit Sharma used cuss word for Cheteshwar Pujara

Rohit Sharma is one of the most consistent Indian batsmen and nowadays, he is performing great against South Africa in the test series which is being played in India. In the first innings of the first test which was played at Vizag, Rohit scored 176 runs and in the second innings also, he played well.

During the second innings, Rohit played a ball from Dane Piedt and wanted to take a single but Cheteshwar Pujara denied. While going back, Rohit was heard saying to Pujara, “Puji bhaag bh*****d”. This incident went viral on Internet pretty soon as nobody expected Rohit to speak in this manner.

2. Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay:

Virat Kohli is considered to be an aggressive cricketer and he doesn’t mind using foul language against the opposition. However, sometimes he uses this type of language while having friendly chat with his teammates as well.

In the year 2018, team India went on South African tour and Virat was in superb form at that time. India had lost the first test match and it was struggling in the second test match too. In response to South Africa’s 335, India had lost couple of wickets but the good thing was that Kohli was at the crease with Murali Vijay. They both were stabilizing the innings and while talking to Murali, Virat used some abusive words for the South African team. He said, “Shaam tak khelenge, G***d* phat jayegi.” It loosely translates to, “If we keep on playing like this till evening, they will be under too much pressure”.

3. Ravindra Jadeja’s slip of tongue moment:

Ravindra Jadeja has been an important player for the Indian team for a long time considering the fact that he is an all-rounder with excellent fielding skills. In 2016, the New Zealand team visited India and Jadeja took five wickets in one of the limited overs match against them.

After the match, Jadeja was sent for the press conference and while speaking he had a slip of tongue moment. While replying to a reporter, Jadeja said, “Turning track pe jabhi naya batsman ayega toh uske liye footmarks dekhe uski ……. (Whenever a new batsman walks in on a turning track, looking at the footmarks ….)”. A smile came on his face after a little pause.

4. Captain Cool got angry at Manish Pandey:

MS Dhoni, the former skipper of India, is known for his cool and calm behaviour but sometimes he loses his cool. In the second T20I against South Africa which was played in February last year, Dhoni was on the crease with Manish Pandey and they both batted brilliantly to take India into a strong position.

However in the last over, Manish took a single and was looking at other side which made Dhoni angry and he used abusive words for the young cricketer. Dhoni said, “Oyee Bo*****dke idhar dekh le, udhar kya dekh raha hai.. Main Idhar khada hu na (Look here, what are you looking at there? I am standing here)”.

5. Ravi Shastri using foul language during interview:

Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, is a favourite target of trollers but he surprised everyone after India won the first test match against Australia in Adelaide. It was a competitive match and India was in a strong position but Australian lower order gave tough resistance and at one point of time, things seemed to be going out of control of India.

After India won the match, this is what Ravi Shastri said while talking with the host broadcasters, “Sach bole toh goti muh mein aa gaye the (To be honest, we almost had our b***s in our mouth).”

It helps us to do the impossible or to fail doing it but still learn from that failure. So if inspiration is so important, how do we get ourselves inspired? What are the tools, the means that can help us with it?

5 Times Cricketers Are Unfollowed And Blocked By The Fellow Players

There is no denying the fact that cricket is one of the most popular sports of our country and Indians have a great deal of love and respect for their favourite players. The cricketers also understand the importance of interacting with their fans and social media networks have given them perfect platforms for this purpose.

However sometimes, these social media networks are used as battle fields on which the cricketers engage in verbal wars that have often led to blocking or unfollowing of one cricketer by another. Here are few such examples:

1. Rohit Sharma unfollows Virat Kohli:

This is undoubtedly one of the most talked episodes as it is being said that the two Indian cricketers were not on talking terms after the disappointing exit of India from the World Cup 2019. The rumours were further strengthened when Indian batsman Rohit Sharma unfollowed Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Instagram.

After this, Virat’s wife Anushka Sharma also made a cryptic post on her Instagram. However, the skipper and the head coach Ravi Shastri have always denied such rumours and said that everything is fine between the players.

2. Sanjay Manjrekar blocks Michael Vaughan:

Sanjay Manjrekar is one of the most trolled Indian cricketers on social media and his tweets and statements have often created controversies. In one such instance, Sanjay called Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja “a bits and pieces cricketer” and for this, he was trolled heavily by the fans of Jadeja.

However, what hurt Manjrekar the most was the manner in which former English cricketer Michael Vaughan made fun of him by giving reference to his statement regarding Jadeja on a couple of occasions. Eventually, Manjrekar blocked Michael Vaughan and this news was made public by Michael himself.

3. Kevin Pietersen blocks Mitchell Johnson:

The England cricket team has silenced its critics after winning the World Cup 2019 to some extent but it is also true that the team has been facing difficulties against Australia in the last two Ashes series. In the Ashes series that took place after the World Cup, an incident happened in which the former Australian cricketer Mitchell Johnson was blocked by former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen.

During the first test match, Michael and Kevin were in the commentary box and discussing about the England pacers who were bowling at the speed of 140 kmph. The former Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson joined both of them through Twitter and slammed England pacers for not bending their backs in order to take the benefit of the surface. As the discussion got heated, KP blocked Mitchell and the latter shared their information on Twitter himself.

4. Not everything is well between Nepali top two cricketers:

Paras Khadka and Sandeep Lamichhane are two important pillars of Nepal cricket; while the former is leading the team in a great style, the latter has been making people aware of Nepal cricket with his superb performances in T20 leagues. However, things do not seem to be going well between the two players as some time ago, Sandeep unfollowed his skipper on the social media network.

5. Sreesanth unfollowed by many cricketers:

Things seemed to be going great for Indian pacer Sreesanth until he was booked for the spot-fixing scandal during the sixth season of the Indian Premier League. Sree was a part of the Rajasthan Royals team at that time and he was banned for lifetime after which many of his colleagues unfollowed him on social media networks.

A List Of Similarities Between Humans And Stars

Remember being told in childhood that humans become stars after death?

The thought fascinated me then and even after studying science for so many years that fascination has gone nowhere. Just think about it, humans and stars, they are just so same.

Here are few of the similarities between humans and stars that relate them very much:

• Just like stars, we are noticed only when we shine through that darkness.

Every person has to face those dark times in his/her life at one point of time or another. But no one notices us during that struggle; the world never notices how hard you work during your bad days.

Only if you are successful, only if you are able to come out of that bad phase, people will start to notice you. No one has achieved fame without those dark times behind them.

• Just like a star falls to grant someone a wish, certain people (read parents) also make sacrifices so that your wishes come true.

We all wish on a shooting star, don’t we? We believe that shooting stars will make our wishes come true. But what about the shooting stars that surround us?

Our parents, they work endlessly for us, they fulfill even those wishes of ours that we never asked for and in the process they sacrifice a part of themselves. Parents are the reality of what we all think a shooting star is.

• Just like that one star on a new moon night, shining alone and guiding us through dark, we all have that one person in our life who is always there, no matter how dark it gets.

We all have that one person, yes? The person who stays with us, the person who is always there in the darkest of our times, the one who will start besides us even if the whole world is against us.

Sometimes on a lonely night, we look at the sky and find one little star glowing through and providing us that small light of hope, that is what that one single person signifies in our life.

• And just like us stars too like to hang out together (constellations).

Stars form a group. When they come together, we refer to it as constellations. Constellations are beautiful, they reflect the fact that how beautiful we look when we all shine together.

They make us understand the value of making a bond and staying with it. They also tell us that different people make different groups and everyone is beautiful in their own little ways.

That’s how it is. Humans are as beautiful as stars and stars are as beautiful as humans. So next time when you find that star reflecting in your eyes, don’t just close them, talk to it, it is just another lost human existing in a different form.

Here’s a very good quote to sum it all up:

We have calcium in our bones, iron in our veins, carbon in our souls, and nitrogen in our brains. 93 percent stardust, with souls made of flames; we are all just stars that have people names ~ Nikita Gill
