Khandaani Shafakhana And Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw Honest Movie Reviews

KHANDAANI SHAFAKHANA

The plot is based on sex education which is still a taboo in India. We are 17% of the total population of the earth and still, we feel ashamed while talking about sex or sex education. Baby Bedi is here to change this after the demise of his uncle who left his sex clinic in her name.

While the film is a satire on the typical Indian society but lacks humor. At first, she is also embarrassed but later she realizes that sex is also an important part of everyone’s life and yet they are not comfortable talking about it. She decides to take the matter in her own hands and teach people that sex is normal and not a taboo.

Rap king Badshah is making his Bollywood debut with this film and surprisingly he did well in his very first film. Other actors also performed well including Nadira Babbar and Anu Kapoor. Varun Sharma played what he plays best, the funny guy whose life sucks. He does nothing (he is unemployed) but is in haste to marry, and can’t differentiate between “virgin” and “vargit”(prohibited).

Sonakshi Sinha owns the show and another debutante Priyansh Jore make a mark by his innocent charm. But there is no chemistry between them which is kind of disappointing.

Although being a sex-related movie, the director did not try to use double meaning or sex humor to make it funny so I can give 3.5 stars for his effort.

FAST & FURIOUS: HOBBS & SHAW

Hobbs and Shaw is the spin-off of fast and Furious series starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham who played arch enemies in the original series. This film brings them together to fight the greater evil and it is full of action.

Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, keeping their differences aside, have united against Brixton (Idris Elba), an MI6 agent who went rogue. After using some cyber-genetic technology he is transformed into half-human, half-robot and is a threat to humanity.

You might miss Vin Diesel from the Fast and Furious, but remember it is a spin-off, which also stars Vanessa Kirby, in the role of Deckard’s sister Hattie. Now the trio helps each other save the world.

As expected the film is full of action and thrill. Anyone who is Fast and Furious fan will know that action makes the soul and body of the film and ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ also lives up to the expectations.

The banter between Hobbs and Shaw give the film a humorous twist which was much needed. The actors played their part well including Vanessa, who is also able to kick some asses. It is a watchable film and can easily get 3 stars.

Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw,” directed by David Leitch.

“I Feel Hurt,” Says Zomato Delivery Boy After A Customer Cancelled Food Order Over Religion

The matter related to food delivery service app Zomato and Amit Shukla from Jabalpur is still making headlines and social media is also flooded with reactions from various corners.

Representational Image

For those who are unaware of the matter, Amit Shukla asked Zomato customer care to change the rider who was going to deliver his food as he was a Muslim and Amit didn’t want to take food from a Muslim in the month of Shravan.

Zomato turned down his request to change the rider and also refused to give a refund in case Amit opts to cancel his order. Amit took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote about this incident.

After this, Zomato also cleared its stand by tweeting that food doesn’t have a religion but instead food is a religion.

When the delivery boy Faiyaz who was supposed to deliver the food to Amit Shukla was asked to comment on this matter, he said that he is hurt with whatever happened. However at one fell swoop, he says that they are poor and they have to suffer.

He also said that when he called Amit to know his location, he told him that he cancelled the order.

There were many who supported Zomato while some accused it of being partial. Zomato got the support of various politicians, celebrities, etc. and in fact one of its competitors Uber Eats also supported it in this matter.

What is your opinion on this matter? Do you also feel that Zomato was discriminatory in handling the complaint or the food delivery service app handled the issue in the best possible manner? Do let us know.

5 Things You Must Look Forward To In The Indian Version Of ‘The Office’

For ‘The Office’ obsessives, it is still considered to be one of the greatest shows of all times and has made the gold standard of a workplace comedy. From Scranton to Faridabad, with the rather ‘fun’jabi
boss, adding up to the comical element, this desi version will take comedy a notch higher, with all the more crazy characters weaved in eccentric situations.

Applause Entertainment brings forth the Indian version of the sitcom, now streaming on Hotstar. With a hilarious cast and sharp humor, ‘The Office’ is certainly a show, the viewers will enjoy binge-watching.

While the US cast helped us keep our sanity unimpaired, the troops at Wilkins Chawla — delineates a 9 to 5 situation where the supervisor, Jagdeep Chadda (played by Mukul Chadda), attempts frantically to keep his employees’ confidence at an unsurpassed high. He is the overtly familiar boss who advises his subordinates to think of him as one of their buddy, sadly his weak jokes and bombed endeavors at brotherhood neglect to awe his associates, who are perpetually exhausted.

The creators bet on this bankable humorous drama and have assimilated an exemplary format, apt for the Indian audiences that will surely grow on you. With Indianised jokes, it makes for an instantly relatable tale, tastefully capturing the essence of corporate life.

Here are 5 instances ‘The Office’ fans must look forward to in the first season of the Indian version of “The Office”:

1. Diversity Day / Anekata Divas

Having been reported for making some inappropriate remarks about race, the head office insists on organizing a workshop on racial tolerance and diversity for Jagdeep Chadda. Overhauling the HR’s presentation, he comes up with his own variant of a diversity game, making the situation worse by going over the top with racial stereotypes with satire and humor floating around the room. Donning outfits that depict distinct ethnicities. Like Pammi and TP enacting a Bengali and Marwadi respectively,
signaling obvious and unapologetically funny stereotypes about different cultures and customs, does make for a super-funny scenario. It’s here that the ground is broken for the show that will endure beyond its international counterparts, becoming one of the best comedies of all time.

2. A game of Kabaddi

Going by the saying, ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’, Jagdeep Chadda sets up a match of Kabaddi between the office employees and the warehouse staff to take place at lunchtime, under conditions where the losing team would have to work the next Saturday. The viewers are sure to find themselves reeling from all the laughs that come with what they are going to witness at the tournament.

3. The Awards

The annual awards at Wilkins Chawla, ‘The Chaddies’, follows the antics of Jagdeep Chadda boring his employees to death. Planned and executed by Chadda himself, the awards night is a complete fiasco filled with his quirky humor that you’ll love, hate and cringe. But rest assured, it is sure to keep you giggling.

4. Office Olympics

When the boss is ‘Out of Office’ for a few hours, the other employees seem to be dying of boredom on the job. With an entire day without the boss to supervise them, Amit takes charge and assembles everyone, setting up an impromptu Olympics inspired by the most epic games they usually play underneath their daily sheets and expense reports.

5. Dandiya Downsize

Its Navratri and the folks at Wilkins Chawla are gearing up for a Dandiya Night as part of the cross-cultural program. Amidst the festivities and high spirits, Jagdeep Chadda seems distressed as he has to fire one personnel today. Having put it off hoping someone would quit, move, or die so he wouldn’t have to do it, he clearly has no idea who he is going to let go.

A big part of what made ‘The Office’ such a huge success was the amazing cast who inhabited the office of Dunder Mifflin. The official Indian adaptation of the cult comedy is no different. All the characters at Wilkins Chawla are about as quirky as they come, with interests that are all over the board. Even every supporting character delights the audiences with just a few seconds of screen time. An ode to the monotony of office life, at its core, we are delighted to witness the newest favorite Indian workplace in action.
