FaceApp-Style Technology Reunited Parents To Their Son Who Was Kidnapped 18 Years Ago

The FaceApp challenge has created a storm on the social media networks and it seems as if people have fallen in love with it. In this challenge, people are using the FaceApp which shows how they will look in their old age.

While people are taking this FaceApp challenge for fun, the Chinese police has used the same technology in order to find out a kid who was kidnapped 18 years ago.

The Chinese technology giant Tencent developed the AI technology which was used to predict how the kid might look like now. The investigators of the Shenzhen’s Futian District used the predictions given by Tencent and also took the help of facial recognition technology in order to find out the subject which seems to match the maximum.

21 years old Yu Weifeng who is a student in Guangzhou was singled out from the 100 candidates. The investigator Zheng Zhenhai told that in the beginning, he refused to accept that he was kidnapped and he is the adopted child of his parents but he had to believe it as his DNA matched completely with his biological parents.

It was 6th May, 2001, when Weifeng went missing while he was playing near the construction site. His father used to work there as a foreman. The police tried their best despite the technology limitation that they had at that time.

Weifeng’s father Yu Xingquan and mother Rong Muhuan visited several cities in search of their child but all their efforts went in vain.

On 18th July this year, the parents were united with their son after 18 years and Weifeng’s father expressed his gratitude towards foster parents of his son. He also said that from now on, they all will be like a family and his son will have two fathers.

However, no one has been arrested in regard to the kidnapping of Weifeng and it is also not clear whether Weifeng has talked with his foster parents about his past.

But the big question is whether Tencent will provide this AI technology to police or not. What do you think?

Chandrayaan-2 Successfully Launched By ISRO. This Is How PM Modi, B-Town & Sports Celebs Reacted

Today is a historic day for all the Indians as the scientists at ISRO have successfully launched the Chandrayaan-2 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. This mission is of a great importance for not just India but also the world as it will help us in knowing more about the Moon.  Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III (GSLV Mk III) has been used for launching and it consists of lunar orbiter, lander and rover which have been developed in India only.

This is India’s second mission to the Moon as the first one was Chandrayaan-1. Chandrayaan-2 was supposed to be launched on 14th July, 2019, but due to a technical glitch, the mission was aborted just one hour before the launch.

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many ministers of the government took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to congratulate the scientists at ISRO and they were joined by common public as well as the celebrities from various fields such Bollywood, sports, etc.

Here are some of the selected tweets:

ISRO Successfully Lifts Of Chandrayaan 2, Read About 10 Magnificent Achievements Of ISRO

India’s second moon mission Chandraryaan 2 which aims at landing a rover or unchartered Lunar South Pole. Chandraryaan 2 with the countries most powerful GSLV-Mkll-M1 has been successfully launched today. After techinal snag, it was immediately fixed for the ambitious and indigenous mission to the moon.

Every Indian’s are extremely proud of the scientist of our country and team ISRO for giving us the grand opportunity to etch 22 July 2019 in the annals of our glorious history

We have grown up being heavily dosed with the stories of NASA. Like we used to think “Internet” meant “Google”, the only word that came to our mind while talking about Space Travel was “NASA”. Meanwhile, our own space research organisation “ISRO” has got less acknowledgement despite having a great contribution to the field.

Found in 1969, ISRO will complete its 50 years in 2019 and in all the 48 years so far, it has achieved so much we are proud of. ISRO today is acknowledged as World’s one of the most prestigious and leading space organisations.

Before ISRO, India had the Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR) which launched the country’s first-ever rocket in 1963.

Not many know that the first rocket was transported to lift-off pad on a bicycle. The second rocket, which was launched sometime later, was a little bigger and heavier and it was transported in a bullock cart for the lift-off.

The whole story of how the legendary scientists like Vikram Sarabhai, APJ Abdul Kalam and others worked dedicatedly for it in almost no resources makes you feel proud. The extraordinary story of how a local Catholic Church became the main office for the scientists and the bishop gave his house to be used a workshop gives goosebumps.

That day and now, ISRO has achieved a series of milestones and has come a long way. Here are 10 achievements of ISRO that will make you super proud of it:

1. Launch of India’s first satellite Aryabhata (1975)

ISRO made its first satellite named Aryabhatta in 1975 and it was launched from within the Soviet Union by a Russian-made rocket. The name was given after India’s prominent astronomer and mathematician Aryabhatta.

Aryabhata re-entered Earth’s atmosphere in 1992 i.e. after 17 years of its launch.

2. Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV)

ISRO faced issues of money and resources since its inception only which made it develop Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV). It was the ultimate solution to make space exploration and space utilization cost-effective and reliable.

3. Indian National Satellite System (INSAT), 1983

ISRO launched a series of multi-purpose geostationary satellites which helped in telecommunications, broadcasting, meteorology, and search and rescue operations.

4. Space Capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE-1), 2007

In 2007, ISRO touched new heights as they launched an Indian experiment spacecraft using the PSLV C7 rocket from Sriharikota.

Three more satellites were launched along with it and the objective was to display the ability to recover an orbiting space capsule.

With this launch, ISRO had an intention to test other things such as Thermal Protection System, management of communication blackout, navigation, guidance and control, etc.

The capsule stayed in the orbit for 12 days before entering the atmosphere of the earth back and diving into the Bay of Bengal.

5. Chandrayaan 1, 2008:

In 2008, ISRO launched its first 312 days unmanned lunar mission. Its purpose was to understand the entire topography and chemical characteristics of the Moon. ISRO was one among the only 6 space organisations to attempt this mission.

6. Mangalyaan or MOM, 2014:

Now, this was a super proud moment for all the Indians. ISRO made India the first country to successfully reach Mars in its first attempt. ISRO also became one of the only four space organisations to have reached the red planet, apart from NASA, Soviet Space Programme and the European Space Programme.

Apart from this, Mars Orbiter Mission or MOM was also special because it was accomplished successfully on a budget of just Rs. 450 crore, making this Mars mission the least expensive till now. The goal of the mission was to collect more data on the atmosphere of the planet.

7. GSLV MK3, 2014:

ISRO launched GSLV MK3 in 2014. It has an Indian made crew capsule which can carry up to 3 astronauts to space. This brought India among few special space cruising nations which can take human missions to space. ISRO is now planning to launch GLSV MK4 which will be able to carry 6 tonnes.

8. Heaviest Commercial Mission, 2015:

Then in 2015, ISRO took up its heaviest commercial mission and launched a load of 1440 kg which included 5 British satellites. The launch was done by using Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C28.

9. World Record of launching 104 satellites in a single mission

From getting its 1st missile launched by the Soviet Union to launch 104 satellites in one go itself, ISRO came a long way and surprised the whole world.

For a long time, the organisation remained an underdog but proved the saying very well that, one should believe in hard work and then the work itself speaks for you.

10. Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS):

The Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) with an operational name of NavIC by ISRO is currently in the testing stage and will be available for public use from next year.

This is another big achievement by ISRO because India will have its own GPS now.

India needed a constellation of seven satellites in space to complete its IRNSS and it achieved the same on April 28, 2016, when ISRO successfully launched IRNSS-1G, the seventh satellite in the series, and guided it to its orbit.

All this so far and we can surely hope for bigger leaps in the future. A Grand Salute to all the scientists at ISRO who have made our country proud.

David Lloyd Laughed At Dhoni For Joining Army Training, Got Heavily Slammed On Twitter

The Indian cricket squad is gearing up for the West Indies tour where they will be playing 2 test matches, 3 ODI and 3 T20Is but it will be the first time since 2004 that M S Dhoni won’t be part of the squad and will not play in any of the formats.

There is no denying the fact that Dhoni is one of the best cricketers that we have but it is also true that ageing is affecting his game and that is not good either for him or for the team. After India’s defeat in the semi-final against New Zealand in the World Cup 2019, it was speculated by many that this would be the last match of the former captain and he would be announcing his retirement soon.

There were some reports which stated that the selectors would not be picking Dhoni for future tours and even if he didn’t announce retirement, he would not play for India in the future. When everybody was curious to know whether Dhoni would be a part of the Indian squad for West Indies, the wicketkeeper-batsman told the board that he would not be available for selection for the next two months.

The reason for Dhoni’s unavailability is that he will be serving Para Regiment. If you remember, Dhoni is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Territorial Army, though it is an honorary post and permission for the same has been granted by Bipin Rawat, the Chief of the Indian Army.

While some people welcomed this decision of Dhoni, former England cricketer and coach David Lloyd found it funny and he reacted with laughing emojis on Twitter.

This didn’t go well with Twitter users and David Lloyd was heavily slammed by the fans of Dhoni. Here are some of the selected reactions:
