The world cup has grown more of an obsession in the past few years. People are spending like crazy on promotions, players, brands, etc. World Cup is no longer a series order came it’s a fever. And we couldn’t agree more this year’s World Cup was legendary the match played between New Zealand, and England had a nail-biting finish to it. Both the teams excelled in that place, and the super over was Cherry on top.

The super over was terrific, and England won the game. Even the super over, came to a draw but since England made the maximum number of boundaries they won.

1. 1975 West Indies versus Australia.

The first-ever ICC Cricket World Cup final was on 21st June 1975 between Australia and West Indies. The West Indies captain who came at the fifth number also scored a century, Australia had to make 292 runs to win from 60 overs. The Australians didn’t play well and had five runouts — West Indies what the first Cricket World Champions are winning by 17 runs.

2. 1979 West Indies versus England

West Indies qualified for the final second time in a row, this time being faced by England. West Indies made a total of 287 runs and England had to make them in 60 hours. Joel Garner took five wickets in 11 balls which left England all out at 194. West Indies won the World Cup for the second time in the row.

3. 1983 India versus West Indies

West Indies made to the third consecutive World Cup finale this time they had to battle India to win the World Cup. With Sunil Gavaskar getting out by making only two runs and Chris Srikanth not more than 30, India got all out by 183. Besides that India took all the wickets and won the match by 43 runs.

4. 1987 Australia versus England

In 1987 Pakistan and India co-hosted the tournament, the finals were held in Eden Garden Kolkata between Australia and England. Australia made a total of 253 runs in 50 overs, England played well and only had to make 17 runs in the final over. But they lost by seven runs, Australia won the World Cup in 1987.

5. 1992 Pakistan versus England

Australia and New Zealand co-hosted the 1992 tournament with the first-ever day-night final, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. The match was played between England and Pakistan. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first the total of 249 runs in 50 overs, England were all pulled out at 227 and Pakistan won by 22 runs for the first time.

6. 1996 Sri Lanka versus Australia

Sri Lanka in India hosted the tournament in 1996, and it was Sri Lanka first appearance in the final. The day-night contest. A total of 241 Sri Lanka completed that with this.

7. 1999 Australia versus Pakistan

Pakistan only made 132 runs, and Shane Warne took a total of four wickets that restricted Pakistan from playing well. Australia reached the target in only 20 overs and won the match by eight wickets.

8. 2003 Australia versus India

The finale was a day-night match between Australia and India at Johannesburg. Australia made about 359 runs, which was the highest score yet. India collapsed, and they were all out at 234, making Australia win by 125 runs.

9. 2007 Australia versus Sri Lanka

The matches were reduced to 38 overs because of rain. Australia made 281 runs Sri Lanka 250 with 53 Run. Australia became their third consecutive World Cup.

10. 2011 India versus Sri Lanka

India Sri Lanka and Bangladesh hosted the tournament in 2011 Sri Lanka made a total of 274 runs at the loss of 6 wickets, and Dhoni made 91 runs, India won the match.

11. 2015 Australia versus New Zealand

Australia won the 2015 World Cup yet again by seven wickets. New Zealand could only make 183 runs and got all out in 45 overs. Australia completed the target in only 33 overs and won by seven wickets.

12. 2019 England versus New Zealand

England and New Zealand both made 241 runs, and there was a tie between the duo. To settle this, a super was played, and that also came to a style. England won by the maximum number of boundaries 23 fours three sixes.

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer “Kabir Singh” is performing great at the box-office as it has already crossed Rs. 250 crore mark and is still going strong. However, the makers have been slammed by some for the manner in which women have been treated in the movie.

When Sandeep Vanga Reddy, the director of the film, was asked about these allegations, he tried to justify it by saying that when two people are deeply in love, they slap or touch each other and if this can’t happen in a relationship, he doesn’t see anything there.

Sandeep was slammed big time for his comments but he clarified and said that he had been misquoted. As per him, he was talking about the liberty of expression that a couple enjoys and he was talking for both men and women but he was quoted for men only.

Recently Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu took a dig at Sandeep when she made a tweet in reference to an article which talked about a 19 years old female model whose boyfriend took her life by smashing her head because he was doubtful of her character.

This horrific incident took place in Nagpur and here is what Taapsee wrote,

Talent doesn’t depend on anyone’s class. It has been proved by a security guard of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Ramjal Meena was hired a security guard in the campus of JNU in 2014. He hails from Karauli, Rajasthan and is a father of three daughters.

The 34-year-old son of a daily wager, Meena went to a government school in his village Bhajera. He had to give up his education as the nearest college was 28-30 km away. He also had to work to help his father.

But his thirst for knowledge never died and he completed his graduation in Political Science, History and Hindi by distance learning from Rajasthan University.

About JNU he said, “What makes JNU different is that people here do not believe in the social hierarchy. Everyone — teachers and students — encouraged me; now they congratulate me. I feel like I have become famous overnight.”

Meena said, “Though I got really busy addressing my family’s financial issues, the regret of not joining a regular college was always there. But when I saw the academic environment here, the dream was revived.”

“I follow newspapers through apps on my phone. Besides, students also helped me get PDF notes,” he added.

Meena chose to study a foreign language as he has heard those who study foreign languages get to visit foreign countries. He also wants to try his luck in civil services.

Talking about his future plans he said that he is the sole earner of the family and his wife is concerned about money so he will request for night shifts.

The chief security officer of JNU Naveen Yadav, said, “We are proud of him. But working night shifts with regular college is not possible. We will, however, extend all help possible to him.”
