A team of officials raided the ISKCON premises at Sagar Nagar in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday and found 396 bags of rice weighing around 19.8 tonnes. The rice was provided by the government for the mid-day meal scheme. A source broke the information to the department, after which they raided the premises.
One of the officials told that by the time they reached the spot, the laborers had already loaded around 110 bags weighing around 5.5 tonnes in the lorry. Its expected market value would be nearby ₹5.94 lakh, the officials said.
Apart from that loaded 110 bags, 286 bags of rice were also found on the premises. The plastic bags which were filled with rice had the words ‘Saelony and Export par Sri Sitaramanajaneya, Kakinada’, printed on it.
Vigilance Inspector Mallikarjuna Rao said, “During the inquiry, the lorry owner Gavara Eswar Rao and his aide Kalasi V. Sanyasi Rao alias Sunny said that the mid-day meal rice was being packaged and the stock was supposed to be shifted to Kakinada.”
ISCKON also supplies mid-day meals to some schools but the raid team has found out that it had not maintained registers from March 2019. A case has been registered under the Essential Commodities Act 1955.
However, ISKCON officials denied the accusations of diverting the mid-day meal rice. They said that rice is a donation from devotees to prepare ‘Prasadam’.

Vadodara is facing a huge strike by school buses and auto-vans after drivers of 3 buses, 12 auto rickshaws and 16 vans were detained by the RTO (Road Transport Office). The children are facing huge problems as the strike goes for the second day. There is literally no transportation available for the children to go to school.
However, this did not stop them from going to school. According to a report on Indian Express, Police officers from Vadodara were seen helping the children reach their schools. They were helping the kids by driving them to school on two-wheelers and PCR vans.
Vadodara traffic ACP AK Vanani said that the force will continue to aid the children till the strike is called off. About 46 police motorcycles, 21 PCR vans, and 9 official Boleros were seen active moving around the city.
“Every vehicle carrying students has to follow certain safety norms, like not carrying more students than the actual capacity and overcrowding the van. We initiated a drive in Vadodara and the association called for a strike. But we understand that the schools have just reopened and it is not easy for every parent to drop their children to school, so we have devoted our morning hours to help such students so that they do not face any inconvenience and do not miss classes. We will continue to do so till the strike calls off.”
The police were forced to take action when 3 kids fell off a van in Vadodara. The van was stuffed with 22 kids and the door was not closed properly. This resulted in the incident. When the van took a turn, the kids fell.
This is a great initiative taken by the Police. Hats off!

Budgeting plays a vital role in the growth of a country’s economy. The funding of our country needs to be redirected from current allocations and the ruling party of our country needs to prioritize spending money on the health sector of India.
India’s expenditure on the health sector is a little less than 2 per cent GDP. As per the reports of National Health Profile India is even below Singapore which is considered to be the lowest public spend on health at 2.2 per cent among other countries with notable Universal Health Coverage.
India currently spends a bit more than 1 per cent GDP on the health sector. Though the expenditure has risen from 1.2 per cent GDP in 2013- 14 to 1.4 per cent in 2017-18.
Former Health Minister JP Nadda earlier said quoting the economic survey of 2017 -18 “Government has risen the total public health expenditure (Centre and States) from Rs 1.49 lakh crore in 2014-15 to Rs 2.25 lakh crore in 2017-18.”
However, let’s take a glimpse of how much other countries spend on the health care of their country the USA spends 17.9 %, Switzerland spends 12.25 %, the United Kingdom (UK) spends 9.8 %, Canada spends 11.3 %, Australia spends 10.3 %, Germany spends 11.1 %, France spends 11.4 per cent.
As per the reports surfacing social media, it is said Arvind Kejriwal has allotted Rs. 7845 cr for Healthcare of Delhi with a population of 2 crore people. Budget allotted by Narendra Modi for entire India for Ayushman Bharat is Rs. 6400 cr.
Health care is one of the most important necessities for humans and our governing body should be focusing on it most importantly. We don’t need big statues to be built-in the country rather we want every person being able to take care of their health with ease. When you’re using the movie of the taxpayers please use it in the right path.

At the time of the death of children due to lack of oxygen in the BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur, there were a lot of headlines in the name of Dr. Kafeel Khan, during that time. Reason? He bought extra oxygen cylinders from outside so that children in the hospital won’t suffer. He was charged and had to remain in prison for several months.
Now Dr. Kafeel Khan is making headlines for children who have lost their lives because of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome at SKMCH Hospital in Muzaffarpur. He said that the government should immediately arrange the 200-bed ICU with immediate effect in SKMCH. Kafeel had reached a health camp in Muzaffarpur on Tuesday, during which he also went to SKMCH Hospital. They took children from ICU to the ward and watched their families and talked to them.

Mirror Now's Santia Gora reports LIVE from Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in #Bihar's Muzaffarpur and gives a sense of the hygiene & condition of the hospital. #BiharEncephalitisDeath toll touches 107.

Amidst all this, the question still remains. What is the government doing? Where are the facilities? Children are sleeping on the floor, patients are given rotten fruit. Most of the children there are no more because of malnutrition. What is the Health Minister doing? He is either asking about the cricket score or sleeping in the middle of the interview!
117 children have lost their lives till now and the numbers are still increasing. And this happens every year in Bihar. In 2014, 139 children lost their lives to this disease. Dr. Harsh Vardhan our Health Minister had visited the hospital in 2014 also. He had promised 100 beds more to the hospital. Well, where are they? You can see in the video how people are sleeping on the floor.
Why are we so caught up things that do not even matter? Why is the nation nor scarred by this? 117 innocent children have lost their lives. 117 families have lost hope, love. Children are passing away right in their parents’ hands. When will we stand up for this? When will we realize that it could have been our family at their place? When will we realize we need to voice our opinion and stand for these families and that too NOW.
How are we doing our bit, to make this India better, safer?

Acute Encephalitis Syndrome has taken the lives of more than 127 children in Bihar and 108 of them are from Muzaffarpur. Each day more and more people are rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Recently, the executive editor of India Today and Aaj Tak Anjana Om Prakash covered the news of Encephalitis Syndrome in Bihar from Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur where more than 290 kids are admitted in critical condition.
Anjana Om Prakash entered the ICU to interact with the patient parties, doctors and the nurses leading which was live broadcasted. Anjana stopped the doctors from treating the patients and the ward attendants in the middle of their work just to interview them.
In the news broadcast on Wednesday Anjana was seen asking the doctor where will he adjust the patient lying on the mobile stretcher and even started questioning the doctor hygiene and infrastructural failures in the hospital. The interview turned into interference where the chief executive editor believed heckling the doctors in an ICU ward from their work is important than heckling the Health Minister and the Chief Minister.
Anjana is also being called out as a biased journalist. Well, when Delhi was severely affected by dengue Anjana in her news segment questioned the ruling party of Delhi, but when the children of Bihar are losing their lives cause of Encephalitis Syndrome the chief editor is seen blaming and questioning the doctors rather than the authority. Ironical right?
Anjana received sharp criticism on social media and we are left wondering who gave her the rights to walk inside the ICU of a hospital with her camera and mic. Twitterati is questioning her unethical journalism:
