The state of Maharashtra is suffering from the worst drought in 40 years. Several villages don’t even have sufficient drinking water. But breweries and distilleries under political control are still getting sufficient water.
An activist from Osmanabad Vishwanath Todkar told that Marathwada, a region in Maharashtra, is facing drought but water is being supplied to beer factories in the area. Many organizations and NGOs have studied five drought-affected areas in the state– Western Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, North Maharashtra, and Vidarbha regions.
Todkar revealed that Marathwada region is completely dry and people from eight districts and 76 talukas are striving daily to get drinking water. But 10 beer factories near and around Aurangabad are getting plenty of water due to their political connections.
Social activist Todkar demands the government to stop sending water to the beer and sugar factories and divert it to the drought-affected areas.
Another activist Mohan Survey shared the conditions of Konkan region. The place which was once known for its greenery and beautiful nature is on its way to becoming a dessert. Water from this region is being taken by Thane and Mumbai.
There are 129 units of producing Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and country liquor in the region and all of them are still in operation. Officials from the Industries Department of Maharashtra government revealed that breweries buy water from private tankers who supply from various dams in the region.
As estimated, 60% of the water in the Jaikwadi dam in Aurangabad is used by beer factories and distilleries. Social activists are demanding to shut down these factories until the monsoon arrives.

Shoaib Akhtar is formerly known as Rawalpindi express the former veteran cricketer of Pakistan slammed ace South African cricketer AB de Villiers for offering to come out of retirement for ICC World Cup 2019 and for choosing money over country in a video which was shared in Youtube.

South Africa is terribly struggling in the World Cup and it is considered to be their worst performance since their World Cup debut in 1992. Shoaib Akhtar criticised the timing of the big news flash and believes it was done to grasp attention as South Africa is failing to fight it out in the World Cup.

Shoaib Akhtar said South Africa was in poor form even when Villiers had announced his retirement in May 2018 before the World Cup. But I think he should have remembered that his country needs him.
He further added Firstly, people must not forget that there was pressure on AB De Villiers to leave IPL and PSL contracts and make himself available for the World Cup. However, he chose the IPL and PSL, announced an early retirement.

In the video, Shoaib Akhtar also said, So basically everything started with finance. I think when he took this decision, he did it looking at his finances and economics. The money will come today or tomorrow but AB de Villiers made the call of making money and to ignore the World Cup.
The former cricketer told, now to clear your name you made a last-ditch offer to come out of international retirement for this World Cup. But I think the management was correct in their stand.
Jab apne faisla kar liya hai tab banda mard ka baccha banta hai aur mard ka baccha tab banta hai jab paise chor deta hai. (Be a man and stick to your decision and that is wholly possible once you let go of the greed for money) the 43-year-old cricketer said.

Indian cricket team played its first match of this ICC world cup on June 5 against South Africa. India won the match, South African bowlers missed some very easy catches, Rohit Sharma broke into an impromptu dance of the field but MS Dhoni’s gloves grabbed more attention than anything during the whole match. His gloves created a lot of controversies because an army logo was spotted on it.
A lot of questions were raised on Dhoni’s gloves and ICC asked him to remove the logo. However, BCCI stood in support of Dhoni and requested ICC to reconsider the objections on his gloves, which ICC denied.
According to the ICC regulations, no player is allowed to display any personal message or logo on their clothing or equipment.
But fans don’t care about any rules and regulations when it comes to the former skipper. They came in support of Dhoni and his gloves initiated a trend on twitter ‘#DhoniKeepTheGlove’.
Meanwhile, viewers witnessed poor quality umpiring during a match between Windies and Australia. So fans are also suggesting ICC, to concentrate on important issues like umpiring standards and not on Dhoni’s gloves.
