Akshay Karnewar continues to win hearts in the Irani Cup, as his bowling action has taken the nation by surprise. He is ambidextrous, meaning both his hands are equally functional.
He even stunned the umpires, when he said they he would be bowling with his right hand, after having bowled with his left hand just a little while back.
His talent came to light on the opening day of the Irani Cup, as he switched hands between the overs and efficiently trapped Shreyas Iyer in front of the wicket.
Clearly, this has left netizens amazed. In fact, they’re questioning as to why Akshay has not been given a chance in the national team:

After the T201, there was a lot of controversy regarding why Dinesh Karthik did not take a single in the fight against the black caps, since that could have helped them win.
He says that he did not take a single because he believed that he could hit a six. He was confident that he could do it, and took a decision in the moment.
Things had not gone according to plan in the match, and India needed 16 runs to win. At this crucial juncture, Karthik refused a single from Krunal Pandya.
This led to significant debate on whether he had made the right decision. A lot of people also blamed Dinesh for the loss of the match, which decided India’s fate in the T20 series.
On retrospection, he said that he and Krunal had done really well and had even put the bowlers under a lot of pressure. At that point, he knew he could hit a six.
He also said that on some days, things do go according to plan and on some days, they don’t. He does not regret taking that decision and also knew that team managers supported his decision.
The most awaited film of the year released today, and we’re glad to tell you, Gully Boy has lived up to its expectations. Ranveer and Alia have hit it right out of the park with this.
The story is simple and straightforward. Murad, a young man, believes that the only way to make himself heard is through rapping. Going from a literal gully boy to a rapper is however not a bed of roses.
But his friends and family come together to aid him on his journey. What strikes you immediately is the fact that Zoya Akhtar has been absolutely true to the rap scene in India.
There is a particular dialogue in the film, where someone says that if everyone were comfortable in life, no one would be rapping. Scenes like these are sure to cause goosebumps.
Alia Bhatt as Safeena is feisty and fiery, which adds to the entertainment factor of the film. However, it is Ranveer who carries the film on his shoulders.
Ranveer portrays the character of a young man with conflicted emotions perfectly. The constant friction between his dreams and the reality around him is sure to strike a chord.
His journey will have you on the edge of your seats throughout. The film nails the raps, without a shred of doubt. The movie has been inspired by the lives of Divine and Naezy, and that has contributed to a superb soundtrack.
They say that it is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. We’ve all had our share of heartbreaks, and if you’re reading this, well done, you’ve made it past something you never thought you would get over.
Relationships begin and come to an end, and we often fail to understand why. Conversations become shorter, you forget the last time you two had a romantic night out, irritation and fights ensue, and before you know it, you’re having “The Talk.”
This short film titled “Okay” provides a unique take on modern day relationships this Valentine’s Day. In fact, the couple’s journey from the beginning to the end might be something you can relate to.
It all seems rosy and easy in the beginning, doesn’t it? Like nothing could go wrong. Until everything did, and they had no choice but to let go.
But how easy is it really to let go? And can you ever let go completely?
These questions linger at the back of our minds, when the roughly 9 minute long video comes to an end. As a matter of fact, it may even raise some questions on your own relationships.
Have you ever wondered why there are more break ups now than ever? What is with this generation? Have we forgotten how to love? Or are we incapable of being loved?
Don’t worry. I won’t be giving spoilers. You can find the answers to these questions in this video:

Assam Police would not be the first to do so. Ever since the trailer for Ranveer and Alia’s Gully Boy came out, the songs and raps have become subject to numerous memes and rhymes.
In fact, Mumbai and Nagpur Police have also used Gully Boy memes to spread awareness on various issues in the past, and now Assam Police has joined the bandwagon.
Assam Police came up with a Gully Boy style rap which would help spread awareness on online scams. The caption read “Jab Jab Internet Par Scam Kiya Jayega — Aapna Time Aayega.”
Internet ki gully
Mayaa jaal hai pyaare
Muft haath aaye
Wo ye maal hai pyaare.
Yahan scammers ke sare sardar hain na
Ginti me jo ye sare beshumar hain na.

Now, this particular reply by Elon Musk went out of the proportion and was too unexpected. Though he later deleted it, the screenshot of that tweet is still doing the rounds.

The Central Board Of Film Certification has done it once again, and its latest victim is Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy which has been directed by Zoya Akhtar.
In the film, Alia and Ranveer share a passionate kiss in one of the scenes, but it’s really as sanskari as it can possibly get. But the censor board has a problem with that too.
The CBFC has demanded that the kiss be shortened by 13 seconds, and that the close up shot of the kiss be removed altogether. Sanskaari, much?
They said that the ‘passionate kiss scene’ must be shortened. These were the exact terms used, we kid you not!
The film focuses on the rap culture of India, and consequently, there are often numerous cuss words in the film. However, the board has asked for such swear words to be removed.
It has also demanded that the name of Royal Stag be removed from the film. Royal Stag is a brand partner for the film, and this is the first time that something like this has happened.
The CBFC seems to be on a roll, with their never ending controversies. Last year, they waged a battle against Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat, which was renamed from Padmavati.
Even Emran Hashmi’s Cheat India had to be renamed Why Cheat India in order for the CBFC to give it approval. Clearly, the board has a problem with kissing scenes, and would like to turn a blind eye to one of the most common displays of affection.
On a different note, Gully Boy releases tomorrow, that is 14th Feb! How excited are you?
