Today, we saw the release of one of the most awaited films of the year, Why Cheat India, which stars Emraan Hashmi in a leading role and has been directed by Soumik Sen.

The film answers the basic question – why are so many students resorting to cheating in the examinations? Is it the fault of the education system?

Rakesh Singh or Rocky, played by Emraan, attempts to answer this simple question. Several youngsters in the country are forced to mug up answers in order to pass their examinations.

But does that affect their learning capabilities? Is that how students are meant to be educated?

The film takes on this rather interesting theme, and is somewhat an attack on the corrupt education system that is prevalent in the country.

However, as many have said, the film is slow, and could have been made more crisp and compact. And at times, we are confused as to what message the film wants to portray. Yet, it is possibly the brevity of the issue, which makes the film so.

However, Emraan puts up a stellar performance in the film. He is the only person in the film who makes it a must watch.

He plays the role of a con man who leaks exam papers, thus enabling students to cheat. This shows the loopholes within our education system. The film certainly opens one’s eyes and makes them think.

Ever since the trailer for Sridevi Bungalow released, there have been a lot of controversies over the film, with a lot of people calling it disrespectful and even insensitive.

The uncanny similarity in the events shown in the trailer with the unfortunate and tragic death of veteran actor Sridevi has led to an uproar in the country.

The title of the film for instance instantly brings to mind Sridevi, and how she died. Similarly, the bathtub scene at the end also resembles the manner in which Sridevi died.

Boney Kapoor had also sent a legal notice to the director Mambully and demanded that they change the title of the film immediately.

The director had then claimed that Sridevi is a very common name, and no resemblances are intentional. There is no logic in changing the name, according to him.

Priya Varrier, who plays the role of Sridevi, said that her character just happens to be named Sridevi and has nothing to do with the veteran actor.

She said that no one would wish to be embroiled in such controversies and once the film releases, people could decide for themselves.

Fans of KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya are quite concerned about the fact as to when their favorite players will be back on the field but we are sorry to let them know that their return will be delayed for some more time.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court has postponed the hearing related to the case till the next week as the Amicus curiae senior advocate Gopal Subramanium resigned from him post. Senior advocate PS Narasimha has been appointed as the new Amicus curiae by the court which has stated that the next hearing will take place only after new Amicus curiae is ready to appear in the court.

It is not just the hearing related to Rahul and Hardik’s case is affected but hearing of many other cases is also delayed because of the resignation of Gopal Subramanium.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) has told the court about the comments made by the two players in the talk show of Karan Johar “Koffee With Karan”. It also sought instructions on the matter of appointing the ombudsman for investigating the matter and deciding on the quantum of punishment.

The CoA has submitted its inquiry report to the court and also said that it won’t be correct to make players wait unnecessarily. CoA chief Vinod Rai recommended two-match ban for the players but another member of CoA presented the matter in the legal cell which advised that an ombudsman should be appointed as the actions of the players don’t violate the code of conduct.
