Shakuntala Devi, the newly released film on Amazon Prime Videos is one amazing experience. It depicts the life story of India’s very own “Human-Computer”, Shakuntala Devi. The lady who could calculate faster than a computer. The lady for whom maths was not formulas but magic.

Directed by Anu Menon and enacted by Vidya Balan, the story starts from a small town in Bengaluru where a 5-year-old girl is solving cube roots of large numbers. And thus we are introduced to Shakuntala Devi. And from the very first moment, the film spell-bounds us.

From a small town in Bengaluru to a country as big as England, Shakuntala Devi displays her capabilities everywhere and earns a page in the Guinness Book Of World Records.

Alongside her love for maths, she has a professional life. A life that involves broken relationships, hard choices, and unseen circumstances. But alongside all this, one thing that remains constant and above all is her love for maths.

The character is brilliantly played by Vidya Balan, who has took it upon herself to depict the strong, bold feminist Shakuntala Devi was. The side cast of Sanya Malhotra and Jisshu Sengupta have also played their role to perfection.

The film keeps you hooked throughout and there is never a dull moment. The fun with numbers, the real-life problems, everything adds up perfectly in making a blockbuster film.

This story is our very own and it needed to be told. And it won’t be wrong to say that not many could have done it better than the duo of Anu Memon and Vidya Balan.

Highly inspirational. A must watch.

There is no denying the fact that the number of coronavirus positive patients is increasing day by day after the government has lifted lockdown. What makes the matter worse is the fact that the speed of increase in the number of patients is very high and more than 55,000 COVID-19 patients have been registered yesterday only in the country.

The Indian government imposed lockdown in the later part of March which continued for more than 3 months and after that, the process of unlocking the country was initiated. Now the government has released the guidelines of Unlock 3 and fitness lovers are pretty happy as gyms and yoga centers will be allowed to open from August 5.

Schools, colleges, cinema halls, pubs, discos, swimming pools, metros, etc. will still remain closed till August 31. Gyms and yoga centers will have to follow the standard operating procedures which have been issued by the Indian government in order to ensure that their customers remain safe from the lethal virus.

As soon as the government released the guidelines regarding the Unlock 3, fitness lovers started expressing their happiness on the social media networks. There were some who were not happy with this decision as the number of COVID-19 patients is increasing at a very high rate while several others questioned that if gyms and yoga centers are allowed to open, why cinema halls, pubs and discos are not given the permission to open.

Waqar has been slammed by some Indian cricketers for his statement; recently Manoj Tiwary criticized the Pakistani bowling coach and now Sheldon Jackson has also lashed out at Waqar Younis for his statement. Sheldon Jackson is an Indian cricketer who plays for Saurashtra in the domestic circuits while in the IPL, he has played for Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Sheldon has taken to the micro-blogging site Twitter and questioned Waqar whether it is so difficult to accept that Virat is among the fittest cricketers, even if he can’t accept that Virat is the fittest cricketer of present times. Sheldon further writes that Pakistan’s bars would be very high even if they could achieve even 50 percent of Virat’s fitness levels.

Virat said that the first feeling that he had after winning the World Cup was of gratitude. He added that everyone in the team was thinking about Sachin Tendulkar as they all wanted him to win the World Cup in his career because they knew that it was Sachin’s last chance to do so.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 has been postponed by the International Cricket Council and this has certainly cleared the way for organizing the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. While it is a matter of happiness for the Indian cricket fans, the Pakistani cricketing fraternity doesn’t seem to be much pleased with it. Their annoyance is quite understandable as the Pakistani cricketers are not allowed to take part in the cash-rich league due to the tensions prevailing between the two nations.

The former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has slammed BCCI as he thinks that the richest cricket organization in the world has played an important role in getting the T20 World Cup postponed. He criticizes BCCI for giving more importance to the IPL than the T20 World Cup.

Shoaib has a habit of talking ill about the Indian cricketers as it helps him in gaining more viewership. Recently he compared the Monkeygate incident which happened between Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh and former Aussie player Andrew Symonds with the ball tampering scandal involving Australian batsmen Steve Smith and David Warner.

Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary decided to respond to Shoaib Akhtar along with two other former Pakistani cricketers Salman Butt and Waqar Younis. Waqar Younis lately talked about the fitness level of Virat Kohli, saying that the Pakistani cricketers are not far behind and they would be setting up their own standards rather than copying Kohli.

While the Indian skipper is undoubtedly one of the best athletes of the world, the former Pakistani skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has been seen yawning in the match against India in the 2019 World Cup. The former Pakistani cricketer Salman Butt criticized England bowler Jofra Archer for breaching the bio-security rules of ECB. Salman Butt is the same cricketer who was banned from playing cricket after he was found guilty in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal.
