Mission Mangal Vs Batla House: Both Witness Slight Decline On Friday
Two patriotic movies were released on Independence Day this year. John Abraham’s Batla House and Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal both are real-life based patriotic films. Needless to say, Kumar’s film grabbed more attention from the audience than John’s.
Looking at the day 2 figures, Mission Mangal is undoubtedly a winner with a huge margin. The extended weekend might work in both the films’ favor but Mission Mangal expects much better box office figures after performing well in just two days.
Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal opened its box office account with ₹29.16 crores on 15th August. It witnessed a slight decline on Friday but it is still massive. It earned ₹17.28 crores on its second day. Mission Mangal now stands strong with ₹ 46.44 crores in its box office.
#MissionMangal is unstoppable on Day 2 [working day after a big holiday]… Multiplexes are terrific, driving its biz… Day 3 and 4 will be massive again… Eyes ₹ 85 cr+ total in *extended* weekend… Thu 29.16 cr, Fri 17.28 cr. Total: ₹ 46.44 cr. India biz.

Batla House is lagging far behind in the race with only ₹ 24.39 crores in two days. John Abraham starrer expected to do much better than this. The film earned ₹15.55 crores on Thursday and ₹8.84 crores on Friday.
#BatlaHouse faces the normal decline on Day 2 [working day after a big holiday]… Day 3 and 4 should witness an upward trend… Needs to pack solid numbers to record a strong *extended* weekend… Thu 15.55 cr [revised], Fri 8.84 cr. Total: ₹ 24.39 cr. India biz.
